Just curious y'alls opinion on taking the GK terminators and making them a BA terminator squad. I want to do it more for the look but I also want to use their weapons. I think it could work just by the fact I could call the weapons sanguinary guard weapons. I have a couple of guys at my local store who say I can't and some who say it should work. What is y'alls opinion??

Weapon options and special rules that they wouldn't specify saying only sanguinary guard can use those weapons. I not a rules junky so that is why I am bringing to the forums.

You run into the issue of having a model which has a Storm Bolter but no Power Fist.

Now while im a firm believer in WYSIWYG as a universal, if all your terminator power fist are represented by daemonhammers (for example) (termie with SB and Hammer) I see no real fault, as you are being consistent throughout...but if you are inconsistent (and cause confusion) then it is a no go

If you're talking about letting them still have Nemesis weapons in a blood angels army, no.

If you're just meaning counts-as regular termis just using Grey Knight models, that's fine.

If you are just using the models due to apperance then it would be fine as long as all were the same so they fitted a userable and fair counts as (i.e. don't have have GK half normal termie but say they are all termies).

Don't call them sanguinary guard blades because its just using bad fluff interpretation to cover a change (termies and sanguinary guard are seperate entities).

It would be alot easier for people to play along with if you are just using the blood angels codex, if you are using the grey knights codex to represent blood angels you will get alot of flak, seeing as the blood angels have a good codex that fully represents them (this rule can be bent for some armies that have codexes e.g. a khorne army can be counts as space wolf as it can be said that that codex is more in keeping with a khone focused army than the C:CSM would allow).

its safe to say that relictors are the greatest army a man , nay human can own.

I haven't mucked about with GK Terminators at all, but I'd imagine weapon swaps can't be that difficult. As long as the weapons are right, I couldn't care less what iconography/model of TDA is used.

I intend on using the C:BA I just want the GK termies for the look. I just thought that it would be kinda cool to maybe say that they were using sanguinary guard weapons but after reading more on it don't think it would be possible. I still like the look of the GK termies and think it would be fun to paint them up as BA termies. Thanks for all the input.

this is the irritating common sense comment that always puts my knickers in a twist. ARE NEMESIS WEAPONS IN THE BLOOD ANGEL CODEX? NO! so how the heck are his blood angeled up grey knight terminators gonna have actual nemesis weps in his games. are thunder hammers? yes. problem solved also its not that hard to convert a grey knight marine into say, a blood angel.

like this
when you could still do bitz ordering i ordering i ordered 4 of shrikes hands and clipped the claws off tgh

Their you're miniatures, you pay for them, do what you want with them, I think they would look cool as sanguinary guard weapons, if someone doesn't want to play with you for having "a different model" than don't play with them...

you may have trouble at WYSIWYG tournaments, but you might not as well.
