Do nightshields work on blast weapons such as missiles, frag grenades and so on?

Template weapons are a specific type of weapon. They use the teardrop shaped template...ie flamers, etc

Yes Nightshields would reduce the range of a battle cannon or other blast weapon. I dont think they affect barrage weapons though....dont quote me on that.

We have been playing it as an extra D6 on pie plates as I believe that is the rule for night fighting. Not sure how this would effect template weapons or those weird range flaming template weapons.

The entry only says template or barrage weapons. Template weapons are specifically the 'flamer' type ones, and barrage weapons require no LOS anyway.
Targeted blast weapons, like missile launchers and the like will be affected.

What about a ranged template weapon like the tyranofex, does it have the range it can shoot the template shortened by 6 inches?

Night shields work on everything unlessnit has a range of template in it's profile. Now that is my understanding of the rule.

No, a template attack is anything that uses the template (which is only the flamer looking thing). The other plastic things are markers.

So, it the Nightshield does work against blast weapons.

I was referring to the Tyranofex attack, which as I recall is a flamer like thing that works a bit like the hell hound special move.

Ah, my mistake. In that case, I agree, the Acid Spray attack is a template attack.

It's not a gray area as the Shot uses the "template" weapon and "template" weapons ignore nightshields, the same way the hellhound would
