'ello everyone!

I've been a little absent in posting in the forums, but not inactive. My friends & family can attest to that since I've been ignoring them & working on mini's like a man possessed... by Nurgle
A while back as I was reading the Horus Heresy & particularly the Eisenstein and the bit about the Death Guard holding a certain importance to the number 7, even before the Heresy. They had 7 Companies & 7 Captains; one of them being appointed Battle Captain. So I decided to appoint a few of my Chaos Lords with the title of Captain & an associated Company. I created a post about it trying to find the 7th captain I couldn't account for & ended up giving up on it with the concept that he was probably one of the ones on the surface for the Istvaan III massacre. I have since divided my army into 7 Companies & sectioned them out with their appropriate Captains.
This Blog will be about creating these 7 Companies & filling them out as well as various projects to complete my Death Guard army.. completely I will of course be open to contructive criticism & suggestions for each Company or parts of the army. So.. 'ere we go!

Frist Company

First wave, these guys are my speartip. Not too much, but just the right effectiveness with Typhus & 5 termies in a LR with PMs & CSMs to back 'em up. Might add more later.

Little Fast Attack & a little Elite with this company. Having fun building this one too. For the Chosen, since they're supposed to be CSMs that have survived a long time I'm using oldskool 2nd ed & RT era minis. Friggin ebay takes for ever!

So that's the current army plan. The companies are a little light & I'd like to fill them out to make a more complete legion, but where to begin? I do plan on making a Warlord for my army as well as a few to sell & will probably make a few Hell Talons/Blades to have air support. Maybe a Plaguereaper if I ever get around to getting a Baneblade. Might fill out the 7th Company a little more too. I know I'm gona need more Nurglings for my Daemon Primarch Mortarion, maybe finally cave & buy an Epidemius & would love to make a wall of fatboys (Grat Unclean Ones), but is there ever a point where you just have to sit down & think "God, I have spent way too much money on this crap"? ... No! There isn't! ;D

Thanks insaniak. I thought about doing that, but didn't know if it had any negative connotations like getting me blocked or anything. I'll post some more pics & updates in a bit. I'm currently buried in RL obligations. One of which being entertaining out of town company that brought me an OOP Tyranid Epic Hivewar box set :O oldskool minis look funny, hehe

Okay! So, I found some free time at work.. How sad is that? But as promised, here are some updates:

I finally got my last OOP Plague Marine from ebay yesterday so my models for the 2nd 7 Chosen are complete. Decided to go with older minis for the Chosen since they're supposed to be veteran Chaos Marines. I originally had Holgoarg as a Chosen Champion/Chaos Lord, but hard to field him as an HQ & the Chosen at the same time. ... actually it's impossible. Anyway! This is the guy I made to replace him as Chosen Champion:

Lighting is awful, but he's basically a pair of OOP termie legs & a PF from the same model as well as a heavy flamer that I swapped for a bolter on the right arm. He's the Champ for my finished 1st squad of Chosen made from OOP plastic Plague Marines. Here's an old pic of one of em:


For the 2nd squad I made this guy as their champ:

I stand corrected. He's the one I grabbed trhe flamer arm from. I think the other one was just a TL bolter. Another pair of termie legs (it's amazing what you can accomplish with a dull pair of wire cutters & blatent disregard for oldskool minis. And yes, that is a chainscythe. Counts as a power weapon, but I wanted to make it fun


For the icon-bearer I may have gone a bit overboard. It was originally a RT era techmarine. I swapped out his BP for a Plague Marine bolter & for the banner I chopped off his wrench & added the shield from my fantasy Nurgle Lord which became Mortuous, then added a buncha spikes for an 8-pointed star. THat still didn't look Nurgly eough so I gave him some guitar string-face. Perfeck!


This guy is gona get his hand chopped off & replaced with a melta.

And here's the one I just got in the mail. Found one without a gun so I could just add a new plasma to it. I found a RT one that had a plasma that was bigger than him, but decided I had spent enough money on ebay so far.


This guy is just the standard Chosen with nothing but a bolter, but slowly became one of my favorites. I used a head from a plastic mold I made of the corpse cart bodies & some GS for the torn muscles coming from the jaw.


and this one was fun! That's right. I attacked a RT CSM with cutters & mangled it so I could GS a lascannon on to it. He had a flamer, I had to do something :/ Think I might add some guitar string to his face too, just under the head.

Next up is my Raptors:


For these guys, I wanted to go with something a little more round & fat than the vanilla raptors, but not as bulbas as a GUO & still cool-lookin. So I started off with FW Renegade torso's, then found a bunch of arms left over & used alt CSM heads for the champs. For the legs, I bought a batch of berserker legs. Then I mounted them all on flying bases attached to the rotten floor bases I've been using for my army.


Here's the 1st Champ. His legs ended up being a little short so I covered that up with a loincloth.

plasma raptor. Did the same thing with the melta raptor, but he's empty-handed right now. Waiting on a pack of meltas from GW

I've also been working on a Pre-heresy Typhus, aka Calas Typhon. I found an image a while back of one someone did where they gave him a beard & liked the look:

This guy! CSM termie body, Spacewolf head, cardboard & GS for the pauldrons, a Grey Knight head for the helmet, GK right arm & left hand, found another Typhus on ebay for is scythe, slaanesh vehicle icon for the pre-heresy DG icon, the othes of moment are GS & the plastic wrapping from the GS and last but not least, his shoulder spikes are the tips of thumbtacks I clipped off. Just the tips Oh, and the terrain he's standing on is a piece of my car. Really diggin the way this one is coming out.

And of course, since I had to get another Typhus for his scythe I used the rest of of him to make a Typhus that will eventually be sitting on a throne.

Oh yeah, I'm making a Terminus Est game board. more on that later... maybe even in a different blog entirely.

Seems interesting, I'm looking forward to seeing how this all turns out.

Thanks moonshine. Got a lot more comin. I like your avatar sig. "Can't say" hehe, nice. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I had to chop up Typhus' scythe so he wasn't all choked up on it. Using the clippers & an exacto knife I separated the hand on the inside of the hilt with the section just below it & removed his left hand, then recombobulated them into what you see in the above model. NOT fun, but the end result came out good I think

Not much of an update, but with several squads still in need of a Rhino I figured this was the most logical next step. Gona mag-mod it for Rhino/Predator conversion, possibly add some LEDs & very likely end up using the last of my GS


Also grabbed an oblit while I was there too, but I'm gona wait to build that one because I plan on swapping out the torso for a FW chaos ogryn.

Any C&C on Typhus before I start painting him?

Hello all. Been ridiculously busy lately with work & RL BS, but not unproductive. Just un..blog.. ductive, whatever.

So, last I left off I had procured a Predator for making another Predator/Rhino mag-mod. That's still making progress. I've got everything almost put together & have bugged the bejesus out of my co-workers stabbing it with an exacto to make battle damage. No pics on that guy just yet though.
I've finished a blackbase coat on Pre-Heresy Typhus:

This will be the Bridge for the Terminus Est. Idealy, I'd like to have it done by July next year in time for Games Day & find somebody to roadtrip up to Chicago with. Thinking of installing plastic green transparencies in the space in front of his throne to emulate holographic images. This is just the Bridge too, I have 5 more pieces of styrofoam the same size that will make up the engine & battery areas. Don't worry, it won't look anything like styrofoam once I've finished adding some CoD pieces & various other techno-junk I can find around my house. Ah yes, and I believe I will need to get a 3rd Typhus to get a scythe for the one in the throne.

So that's it for that project for right now. I also added some finishing touches to my 4 Horsement bikers. Still haven't done much else on the Chosen. They're all blackbased like PH Typhus at this point, but nothing else.

And last but not leat, I'm now making a Soulgrinder! I say 'now' because I never really planned on definitely making one, but the other night I'm diggin through some random bits & pieces from action figures & I ran across the gatling gun from an Akira figure I had lying around & a few MacFarland Hellraiser figures and I still had a torso & left arm from the Nurgle DP that I used for Mortarion.. andicameupwithTHIS!



He's much more impressive in non-grainy RL. The shaft of the scythe is the gatling gun, the blade & various tubes are from a Spawn figure & window-screen tubing as well as a some pieces from the Rhino.


Then I finally got it to stay upright after a LOT of glue & patience & the left arm looked a little lonly. Hey, don't I still have a FW Nurgle Dreadnought Heavy Bolter?

YES I DO! hehehe.

Then I added a face mask with black latex to the Hellraiser head

& gave him a tail

The crab leggs are in the mail. In about a week I should have the Soulgrinder I never wanted

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I was Death for this last Halloween & made a scythe for the costume, but it's really a pre-cursor to a much more elaborate costume of terminator armor. Can you guess who?

Not much of an update & my camera still sucks, but no one's reading this blog anyway so

Soul Grinder is almost put together.. maybe. I realized after getting the Defiler bits for the body & legs Soul Grinders actually have 6 legs. As all the bits websites are now out of Defiler & Soul Grinder legs (thanks to yours truely) I might just stick with 4 legs.

Ultimately, I'd like to display the Terminus at GD 2012, but it is DEFINITELY more than the 2' alotted for Armies on Parade & more of a game board. Not even sure if I can still enter. From what I've read about AoP you sign up with local GS, but if they aren't participating (which I don't think mine is) you can show up & sign up at GD as a wildcard entry.

Chosen & Raptors are comin along. I'll post pics of them next update. For now, enjoy this Great Unclean Moogle:
