I have two eldar falcons that I would like to use as wave serpents. I have magnetized scatter lasers, emls, bright lances, star cannons and shuriken cannons to fit the two turret weapon slots. They fit perfectly but will tournaments allow me to use falcons as wave serpents? They do not have the extended cargo area or the fins. If they are not tournament legal, what would I have to do to make it so they would be? I really do not want to have to put the extended hull on the back of the falcons. The fins would be no problem at all. Let me know what you guys think.
Thanks

As long as they all looked the same I think this would be fine. However if you have 2 (real) wave serpents, and 2(modded) serpents than it becomes an issue as 2 look vastly diferent

Well I have one real serpent. I won an ebay auction for two wave serpents... turned out to be two falcons haha.

I really can't tell a wave serpent between a falcon, they both look the same to me. I guess I'm going blind.

A Falcon has a second cockpit on the turret, and the Wave Serpent doesn't. To my memory, the Wave Serpent only has 2 of the same guns as opposed to the big ugly Pulse Laser and something else.

I have ONE actual wave serpent kit.
My other 4 are all converted falcons (although I have done the hull extensions for all) and none use the falcon turret (they all use a smaller one with twin weapons.)

I've seen several players with "wave serpents" (falcons with no hull extensions) and turrets made from small flight bases and twin weapons (or 25mm bases and twin weapons) at several of our major tournies, though, and no-one has had issues with them.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Back in the day people would convert wave serpents by adding plasticard fins to falcons.

Alternately you could try to buy the fins from bits sites.

I have done the same thing - I own one falcon (besides many wave serpents) and although I prefer to use it as normal, I have magnetised the pulse laser as well as the secondary weapon, I have the parts to use it as a wave serpent. I don't see how anyone would object. Then again I don't build my wave serpents with those spines on the front, if you do then I suppose there is a greater difference between the 2 models. As for the hull extensions, I think that's the kind of change which is for the owner's benefit more than his opponents'. Ie it isn't immediately noticeable if you're viewing the models from the other side of the table.

Ok thanks everyone, sounds like it should be fine.

I must warn you that wave serpents are slightly longer than falcons. They have an extra compartment at the back to make it look more like a transport. You should clearly specify to your opponents before a game

I like to imagine the Emperor kills so many Orks that he ends up half buried beneath a pile of corpses, with only his head sticking out. A lone grot stumbles across him, and starts choking him.

Then Horus comes across the lone grot, somehow managing to kill the Emperor, and punts it into space.
