Only new users can ask for a username change to correct typos and similar problems. Long term users can not get name changes as a few parts of dakka are paired by username instead of user id, so changing username can void moderator logs and discussion without significant work keeping things active. All quotes and text references to you in older threads and articles also get instantly voided and make reading old threads more confusing. Only in very exceptional circumstances can long term users get name changes and 'stale' does not qualify I'm afraid.
