After reading both the Eldar and Chaos Codex, I was wondering what people thought the stronger pirate fleet was? I don't have any of the Battle Fleet Gothic materials available so I'm not as certain about how that would hinge.

Prince Yriel for his part is a tactical genius by Eldar Standards, he defeated a chaos fleet with the Iyanden navy, as well as later defeating the Tyranid fleet above Iyanden. While Yriel has been restored as an Autarch of Iyanden, his fluff strongly hints that hes still crusin about with the Eldritch Raiders looking ways to keep his Craftwold alive.

Black Heart for his part is an incredibly ruthless raider, who STOLE a ship from the space wolves while they were still flying on it, and has lead successful raids against Fortress Monasteries of Space Marine Chapters. Generally pretty well protected targets, and some pretty solid success for Lord Huron.

Both are clearly described as incredibly adept commanders. So anyway if the Eldritch Raiders were to meet the Red Corsairs, which corsair fleet would come out on top?

Neither. At the height of the battle both sides would be ambushed by agents of the Assassinorium.

Ninjas are better than pirates.

And Huron successfully raided a SM chapter, stealing all of their geneseed resulting in it's slow and painful demise.

Weird-Selfharming-Spear v. Bearclaw w/ Heavy Flamer built in. I think it's obvious which one is cooler.

Undoubtably both are cool but I'm a fan of the magic spear that can also function as a tank destroying javilen and returns to the owner.

Before considering the Admiral, I think you'd have to first consider the size of their fleets and their competency/efficiency.

Huron's, for example, is a rag-tag band of renegades brought under the Red Corsairs flag by Fear, Debts and other elicit activities.

Yriel's is somewhat more disciplined and organised when compared to this, perhaps brought together by a respect for the Admiral and loyalty to him. (That last thing was conjecture on my part.)

Also, one would have to consider the size of the actual fleets.

I can image Huron's being at least twice the size of Yriel's just by the nature of it's make-up.

Then it comes to the tactical knowledge of the Admiral's themselves.

While it could be argued that both are indeed superb tacticians, I'd have to say that Yriel would have the advantage here. Mainly due to the fact he is an Autarch and is dedicated to the Strategical and tactical aspect of wars whereas Huron is more of a fighter than a thinker (but is nowhere near foolhardy.)

Just my opinion,

Iranna.

I think its pretty cool how both of these forces are pretty much even in the polls.

My own vote goes to Yriel on feats. I think that breaking down the nid Tendril fleet was more impressive than the chapter monsestary raid.

Also in addition to his Blazing Elditch Artifact, Yriel also has the Eye of Wraith, which makes everything around him die...

I voted Yriel because he's not just a pirate raider like Huron, he's also kind of an explorer. He goes around seaching for artifacts and mystical objects to keep his craftworld alive. He has a greater purpose than Huron, who just raids and pillages.

I like to imagine the Emperor kills so many Orks that he ends up half buried beneath a pile of corpses, with only his head sticking out. A lone grot stumbles across him, and starts choking him.

Then Horus comes across the lone grot, somehow managing to kill the Emperor, and punts it into space.

Yriel did not defeat a craftworld himself, he had a lot of help from space marines, who weakened the hivefleet, and the craftworld itself who did some great damage against it. Yriel just swooped in for the final kill.

Don't believe me? Check the Nid codex.

But i'd still say that Yriels Raiders are way better than the stupid corsair. Eldars are far more superiour in both tactics and space fights!

The space marines helped in the since that they were fighting another main trendril of kracken the fleet that attacked Iyleden was beat solo by the Eldar and Yriel killed a Hive Lord that no other warrior save the Avatar had a chance of beating.
