Bounding Assault Marine

I'm currently converting/painting some space marines as deathwatch members and will be using rules for Legion of the Damned for them.
So I was thinking if anyone has any experience of the legion in battles. What load-outs work well, what kind of targets to pick, reliability with deepstrikes?
So far I've planned to use one squad of 5 to hunt down nob-bikers. Armed with powerfist, heavyflamer and flamer. Sounds useful?

I believe the general consensus is that they are overpriced to the point where they are one of the worst units in the codex.
If you do want to use them I would probably take stuff to leverage the fact that they are Relentless.

A lot of people hate on them, but a friend of mine puts them to good use. 3++ save makes them a great unit to soak up hits. Their special rule allows you to re-roll the scatter dice if you choose to, so less of a chance for perils. Currently he rolls with a multi-melta and flamer, a little odd pairing but he plays it well. From what I've seen is he tries to drop them about 18 inches from an opponent and either tries to pop or disable a transport or put some shots on squads in the open. Then he uses the legion as a shield for his other units to move around behind. Sgt with a PF is fine, if they assault they'll be striking at I 1 anyhow due to SnP. Anyhow I wish you the best!

combimelta, melta, mulitmelta. I should probably put in plasmagun to use the relentless.
I find with Vulkan or a full reserve army with tigurius they are fine.

If you take advantage of relentless Ive found them to be nasty like Mfletch is pointing out a plasma cannon can really ruin somethings day that and they have extra attacks so IF you can get them in there they can take out softer targets while soaking up ALOT of dmg

One vote here for Combi-melta/Melta/MM. Hit the biggest, most dangerous vehicle in his line and then march through the rest of them.
People heap a lot of scorn onto them, but as far as I am concerned dropping what amounts to a unit of stormshields with three melta weapons that can all fire on arrival is well worth the cost in a shooty army, especially with vulkan on the board.

Fist is no brainer, hardest to my thinking is whether PG or meltagun. Thinking mm and PG for volume of fire and effect on light vehicles, however play testing not yet done so happy to hear others experience

Yeah MM/PG probably, takes full advantage of relentless and range overlaps nicely. Depending on what you tend to face, switch PG for MG.
The sweet thing about them is 3++. They can soak as much high power love as TH/SS termies but can shoot back. The lame thing about them is the forced reserve, If they didn't have that they'd be awesome. Add to that all the officers of the fleet out there.
If it's the 3++ you're after you could give storm shields to a bunch of vanguards. ~35pts each, 40 with melta bombs. Ridiculous prices but at least you know where they are.
