Hi All
I was wondering what would be correct for the following scenerio:-
Ten nobz take five wounds which weren't saved - could you dish out one wound on five nobz or do you have to kill off 2 nobz and 1 with one life left?
Cheers
Andy

If they each had separate wargear that made each unique from any of his fellow nobz then you could put one wound on each nob. The power of being able to spread wounds around on nobz make them a powerful force to be reckoned with but if there are groups of similar nobz than you have to attempt to remove full models when possible.

To add to this question, I had a situation in a Tourney a few weeks ago where my unit of 7 Nobz (all with different wargear) took a single wound from a units shooting.
He then proceded to shoot me with a different unit that did another single wound, I went to allocate this single wound onto a Nob with 2 wounds but my opponent said that it wasn't allowed and I had to remove the nob with the single wound first, I pointed out that they all had unique wargear but he said that it didn't matter in this case as I had to allocate the first wound suffered to the single wound nob first.
Is this the correct decision? I didnt put up much of a fuss as it didn't have any sort of decisive outcome on the game (I voted for him as best sportsman at the end), however the Grey Knight I play every second weekend uses this with his paladins and would make a big difference when coming up against my IG.

Your oppenent was wrong. Since it's a diffrent unit firing at you, and you have with diffrent wargear, a unwounded nob was legal.

Yup, that's a holdover from last edition, where you did have to remove whole models whenever possible. In the current rules, you still have to remove whole models from within the wound group, but you are free to allocate as you choose.

To make it clear your:
1) Allocate wounding-hits evenly across the unit, so every model has at least one wound allocated to it before you allocate a second, and so on.
2) Once you have finished allocating wounds, you then group the wounds into like models, with a pool of wounds. So here, if you have 1 wound on every nob, and every nob is unique, you would have 10 "groups" of 1 nob with one wound allocated to it
3) You then make saves and remove wounds (and models) within the group - and wounds cannot transfer between groups. Here you are forced to remove wounded models first, but ONLY at this point
Vossyvo - as above, if you follow the steps you will see you can only be forced to remove wounded models first if you have allocated it a wound in step 1 - and in step 1 the rules do NOT require that you allocate to a wounded model first - you are free to allocate to whoever you like.

Yep, common misunderstanding. You do not have to allocate wounds to unwounded models, ever. You just have to remove whole models as casualties.
