Hey guys, I have just been playing around with the SM codex and was looking at the 6 dreadnought list. I was just messing around, but I might end up doing it. Here is what I am wanting:
master of the forge with conversion Beamer
2-3 tactical squads:
2-3 rhinos
3 venerable dreadnoughts
3 dreadnoughts
--- I really am just pulling stuff out of my nether-regions so any advice would be great for the loadouts of the dreads and tacts


I was thinking twin-linked lascannon and HF for all 3 of the venerables
and as for the regular dreads, I was thinking assault cannons or plasmas.
Also, would throwing Vulkan in the list be worth it?

Does anyone have any experience with something like this? And what would I have trouble with?

Might be worth it to work all this up into a drop pod army with close range weapons, like MM, Flamers, Melta guns that you can use Vulkan to make even better.

I was thinking that at first, but I really wouldn't like it, because I hate the drop pod models. They are so irritating to model and paint.
Other than that, should I go with 3 of each kind, or a mix and match work too?

hmmmm venerables are BS5 right? maybe giving them assault cannons would actually be better. you get he added BS for four shots, and assault cannons are actually better at popping land raiders than lascannons. maybe put lascannons on the normals, because they are only BS4, and could make better use of the TL on the lascannon. just a thought. also, have yo uconsidered iron clad dreadnaughts with 2 hunter kliller missiles. its a shame you dont like drop pods, because them dropping down behind a tank and then unloading with under slung melta, and 2 hunter killer missiles is supposedly very effective.

Hmmm, thats reasonable. So should I give the 3 regular a lascannon and missile, or just the las? Would it be good to keep the Dreadnough CC weapon?

Salamander list with CC dreds and drop pods. think of all TL flamers and meltas!

Give your MotF a Big gun and bike.
I would go for a bike and dread army. Vulkan the model would be left behind.
Or a razorback and dread army. This would not use Vulkan at all.
