Right i am kind of a complete noob to 40k and i am still learning (slowly ^_^)

I am Preparing a Blood Angels Army.

So here is my Question.

I acquired a second hand 5 man Assault Squad. With the following weapons attached.

1. Power Fist + Combat Shield,

2. Power Sword + Bolter Pistol,

3. Chain Sword + Bolter Pistol,

4. Power Axe + Bolter Pistol,

5. bolter pistol + Plasma Pistol...

Am I correct in assuming that this squad has to many power weapons in it and what would you suggest I should get/replace for them.
Also What weapons and kits should I be running for my assault squads for future reference.

"Don't Forget" they are for a blood angels army

Any Tips and help would be great!

If I have anything wrong please correct me. I will be requiring alot of help from dakka peep

In an assault squad only a sergeant can have a power fist or power weapon, or a combat shield. So take that power sword and power axe off those guys, and replace them with standard chainswords. An assault squad can have 2 flamers, plasma guns, melta guns, or plasma pistols sewn throughout it. Power fist on the sergeant and melta guns in the squad are the popular options these days.

To build Blood Angel assault squads in the future, I'd get one assault squad and one Death Company kit, then mix and match the bits between the two sets. This way you'll be able to spread the Blood Angels-y bits throughout your force and your guys won't look too overladen with bling.

It sounds like you got some Death Company, Assault Marines, and Sergeants mixed in together.

the Combat shield is a Sergeant loadout, Power Sword and Power Axe can be Sergeants/Death Company, the Chainsword/BP is a regular Assault Marine. the Bolt Pistol and Plasma Pistol is technically an Illegal loadout, but he could easily be a counts as assault marine with a Plasma Pistol.

Could they possibly be vanguard vets? I'm not familiar with Blood Angels, but Van Vets can get power weapons, and maybe that last one was a screw up. I'm just spit balling here of course.
