Bounding Assault Marine

I currently have an army of
  • 25 Tactical marines, 2 with flamers, 2 with Missile Launchers and 2 are sergeants
10 Terminators with Power Fists and Storm Bolters, 2 are sergeants which have Power Swords instead of Fists
    2 Dreadnoughts

  • All of which came from two AoBR boxes and I got five extra tacticals.
    I was planning on getting
  • A Battleforce Pack
    A Devastator Squad
    A Thunderfire Cannon
    And 5 Damned Legionnaires

  • What do we think?
    Thanks

So, it all depends on what you want to do exactly, but I think the number one thing you need on your shopping list is transports. That means buying Razorback kits, which give you everything the Rhino kit does plus a bunch of extras for like $2 more.

I would also suggest you not buy Damned Legionaires, which are terrible. Devastators aren't great either in the standard SM codex.

I don't play regular Space Marines myself, but some things that I'v heard are good are: Dreadnoughts (especially if armed with two TL Autocannons), Land Speeders, Assault Terminators, Sternguard.

If you want to use those AoBR Terminators without turning them into Assault Terminators, get them Cyclone Missile Launchers.

Agreed, Legion of the damn is really over priced for what they do. if later you find that you really want to use them i would proxy them and try them out before you buy.

Devs are a nice choice for you as well as maybe some transports.

The real question is what kinda army do you want to build? What are you looking at points wise? 1k, 1.5k, 2k, 2.5K, 3k? Do you want shooty, CC based, Mix? What chapter are you looking at? Those question would really help us help you.

Legion of the damned look great. No one will blame you for buying or playing them.

The battleforce comes with more standard marines than you will ever need, a rhino which can not become a razorback(if you buy a razorback you can change between the two), scouts with a rubbish set up, assault marines who are rubbish.

Start with transportation. So buy some razorbacks magnetise the turret and sometimes remove the lid to use as a rhino. This means you can play and have a feel which set up suits you best. From there you can start to expand.

At the moment I think you need some more damage causing units so I would suggest sternguard or some heavy weapon goodness. The heavy weapon goodness may be pred, vindi or the dev. squad. The sternguard have various set ups so you will also have to decide how you want to use them.

So buy some razorbacks and start playing. Have a vague idea where your list is going as well, that is an issue as not many lists can really fit in a thunderfire cannon.

I don't really care about how much points I cost, I would like a mix off CC and Shooting and I don't really want a specific chapter, maybe Ultramarines but I haven't painyed them like so.

I have been put off LoTD. I also realized how cool transports are as I recently got smashed by a LR. I want Devastators as they can hold many heavy weapons, and I am mostly fighting Orks nowadays.
    Thanks everybody for the advice!
