So, I'm heading to this 1750 point RTT tournament on the 17th and you MUST have at least 40% of your list be troops. I have no idea what the missions will be but I would imagine they're going to be straight from the book. This is what I've been working on........ What do you think?
HQ: 340 points
Khorrsaro Khan on moondraken
Chaplain on bike
TROOPS: 760 points
4 Bikes and Sergant
2 plasmaguns/ Power Fist/ Multimelta Attack Bike
245 points
4 Bikes and Sergant
2 Plasmaguns/ Power Fist/ Multimelta Attack Bike
245 points
6 Bikes and Sergant(Khan and Chappy here)
2 Meltaguns/ Power Fist
235 points
FAST ATTACK: 290 POINTS
Land Speeder Typhoon
Land Speeder Typhoon w Multi-melta
Land Speeder Typhoon w Multi-melta
HEAVY SUPPORT: 360 POINTS
Predator Tank with side Sponson Lascannons
Predator Tank with side Sponson Lascannons
Predator Tank with side Sponson Lascannons
1750 on the nose.....I could swap the Chappy for Libby but since I don't have the points to run my biker-star I decided to try the chappy plus Khan instead of captain/libby/command squad
thanks,
P

I like it. It's nice and simple, yet has enough options to be formidable.
I am concerned by the small model count though. If you lose any bikers early on you are in trouble.
I would like to try and find some points for a small scout squad to go and find an objective to camp on, so you have less to worry about with your bikers. This could be achieved by dropping the lascannons on 2 of the preds. (or something similar, I was just thinking of a 5 man scout squad with camo cloaks).

The only bike squad which is worth the points chucking into cc is a command squad with storm shields.
Not sure they will need the chaplain so do go for a librarian.
Having a steadfast and solid three tanks at the back for a mobile list is a little risky but may indeed work.

I like the list alot though I cant see why you want a PF on the plasma bike squad, can't fire plasma guns and assault. Unless bikers have different rules to that of infantry

An ok list. A regular bike captain would be better and cheaper. Don't see the point in a chaplain a librarian will do you more good but you would be better of with more regular bikes really. Drop the mm on the typhoons IMO. Take two melta squads a flamer squad and a plasma squad.

Playing a lot of games with bikes I strongly suggest removing the attack bike from your bike squads.
if your atk bike fires the multi-melta into a tank you pretty much waste the rest of the shots in that squad. if your squad is in assault you are wasting the multi-melta
I find having the bikes be dedicated to an assault/anti infantry role fits them MUCH better. or a simple anti tank role. if you want some anti tank for the bikes use the powerfist.
the chaplain seems a waste of points. I like having attack bikes fill a fast atk slot dedicated to anti tank. and I dislike the speeders being in squads of 1. it's like flying free kill points across the table lol.

You are not free whose liberty is won by the rigour of other, more righteous souls. Your are merely protected. Your freedom is parasitic, you suck the honourable man dry and offer nothing in return. You who have enjoyed freedom, who have done nothing to earn it, your time has come. This time you will stand alone and fight for yourselves. Now you will pay for your freedom in the currency of honest toil and human blood. |

Im sorry but this is just horrible advice. The attack bike is better than the regular bikes in all instances except that it has one less attack when charging than the same points of regular bikes do. Bikes does not belong in CC so that is a moot point. A mm attack bike goes (quite obviously) great with melta guns in the bike squad and also with plasma. The HB attack bike goes well with flamers.

The MM attack bikes pair quite well with the plasmaguns because they both have 24in range and are both pretty good vs AV 10/11 from a distance and if need be can close the distance and deal with heavier armour.
It also increases the effectiveness against tough infantry.....This is where I may go back to the libby with Null Zone because it helps alot against one of the weakspots...

Also compare 2 bikes with one attack bike. The attack bike gets one TL bolter then the heavy weapon is better or for same or less points. Yes i know it would save 25 pts per squad but drop the powerfist as you do not need it.
KPs is only 1/3 of the time and the ability to target more than one target and not being brought down by one heavy bolter.(about typhoons)

To each their own My army was undefeated with this build for about 3 months. it takes basic understanding of how things work and the balance of the units in your army. MY play style didn't match having an attack bike in an squad attempting to fit every role.
