Sup, are blood angels OP?
Specifically death company, with fearless, furious charge, feel no pain, and the option to give EVERY ONE of them power weapons.
Plus the death company dreadnaught troop choice, with blood talons (infinite close combat attacks) and a load of melta stuff.
It's irksome having to play against them with IG.

This is invalid until you cite all of their abilities. Rage, it handicaps them, they can have all the power weapons and CC special rules they want, getting them to a position where they can use it can be an absolute chore.

I wouldn't really call it a chore when your moving them flat out in an assault vehicle like the stormraven. (damn thing is invicible to me with my dice rolls!! )
they are REALLY good. but they are NOT OP they will not CARRY your army to victory if you simply rely on them. IMO a unit only becomes OP when you can rely on it entirely to win you many games. deny them the charge or shoot them with ap 2 weapons (plasma) A simple answer to a simple threat.

You are not free whose liberty is won by the rigour of other, more righteous souls. Your are merely protected. Your freedom is parasitic, you suck the honourable man dry and offer nothing in return. You who have enjoyed freedom, who have done nothing to earn it, your time has come. This time you will stand alone and fight for yourselves. Now you will pay for your freedom in the currency of honest toil and human blood. |

Say i'm against a Blood Angel Army. They have a rhino full of Death Company, as well as 4 or 5 drednaughts chasing towards you. They will reach my lines by turn two, so i will get two shooting phases against them if i went first, one if not. Even with vetmelts and a few leman russes, i'm not going to cause nearly enough damage before they're on my like a plague of locusts, ripping my squads to shreds and melta bombing my vehicles.

This seems suspect. I am suspicious.

What seems suspect? Blood Angels Rhinos can move like 18" per turn.

you make it sound like they can't die. if they kill 1 squad whats to stop you from rapid firing everything into them?

well lasguns are by and large useless against them with FNP.
Assuming I get a rapid fire with a vet squad w/3 melta, that's 6*2 shots, 8 hit, 2.6 wound, 0.9 fail armour save and 0.45 fail feel no pain.
The melta guns give us 2 hits, 1.7(ish) wounds with no armour save. So that's about 2 wounds in total, which probably isn't as bad as it sounds until you remember that if I am in a position to make these shots, the enemy is in a position to charge me next turn=instant death guardsmen.
edit:so if you had enough vet squads that were spread out enough, you might be able to break even. But that would probably be at the expense of a LR or pyskers.

Imperial Guard Landspeeder Pilot
On moon miranda.

DC are powerful, but not broken, they're expensive and can't hold objectives, though yes can be frustrating to deal with.
If we're going to complain about BA's, there are better things to point to (like Fast Scouting AV13 battle tanks in Fast Attack...)

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.
New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts. |
