Thank for the help.

Trolls are awesome, and their models rock, but since they are nearly all Medium or bigger based models, and is a infintry specialized army, its a costly faction.

If you're willing to spend the money here are the units I'd say are nearly or definately must haves:

1. Fennblades+UA (really amazing unit)
2. Kriel Warriors+UA(Tar Pit cheap units but expensive $$$)
3. Fell Callers (More buffs!)
4. Janissa Stonetide (Best solo ever)
5. Kriel Stone bearers (Buff unit, is greatness)

Add casters to taste. Later you'll read about the Burrownomicon and the burrowers are amazingly good.

For beasts the ones I'd get outside of the battlebox:

1. Earthborn Dire Troll (I'd say Trolls best model and animus)
2. Mulg the ancient (Face wreaker and wicked model)
3. Bomber (For ranged blastiness)
4. Mauler (You'll want one of these and pretty much thats it. Model is awesome and has some very nifty uses)
5. Pyre Troll (Is cool and if you face legion a near must have)

Hope this helps, I know it seems I'm suggesting nearly EVERYTHING they have but its how I see it.

Casters I'd recommend would be pMadrak as he really helps you learn the game. eMadrak is a powerhouse. eDoomie for beast heavy lists. Calandra because she's amazing. Grim is very fun and has lots of cool options and for mobility and speed I'd say go Jarl.

BORKA FTW! He's one of the sturdiest casters right next to eMadrak. He's really cool, model is great, and playstyle greatness.

Hope this helps!

Impalers! They are the reason I am going to go trollbloods when I move into hordes from warmachine. Impalers are good both at range and in melee, but they reall shine when with a caster who can boost their attack rolls for free, like gunnbjorn. At least that is my view.

I feel sorry for Santa Clause, All these mom and pop operations are running him out of business.

For a noobie 35pt list I would aim for:

eMadrak
-Mauler
-Axer
-Runebearer
Max Fennblades w/UA
Min Krielstone w/UA
Max Pyg Burrowers
Fell Caller Hero

This gives you a good branch off point to other lists and a good taste of what Trollbloods can offer. You will want to purchase a bomber, EBDT, Mulg, followed by other casters shortly after. Filling out your solos would be a good move after that, Janissa being the initial one. Then you can move to Trollkin Champions/Long Riders/Kriel Warriors after.

Trollbloods have decent internal balance compared to other factions so most of our stuff is competitively playable.

Until you fall in love with the faction I would avoid Sluggers, Scattergunners, and Bushwhackers.

The burrownomicon is just what people call the tactics used with the Pygmy Burrowers (Dygmies).

With the right setup and proper positioning, you can get those buggers up to MAT 6 Pow 14 attacks. With eMadrak and an upkeep spell you add a die to damage.

So on the charge after the turn they burrowed (un-targetable) and pop up in near your lines, they will be Mat 6, two attacks, first one pow 8, 4d6 dmg, then second attack, also mat 6 pow 14, 3d6 dmg.

Thats each burrower. There are 10 of them! lol.

That mixed with the ability to move unhindered across the board to nearly ensure they get the charge at full strength is devistating. They are hard to prepare for or defend against and their PC is very low. Add in the support solos etc to pull of the higher mat, etc. and bam you're dealing with a mean unit.

I believe there is another solo who can make anything that attacks them get knocked down. So hey, they pop up, murder your face, eMadrak pops his feat so they murder your face some more, then on your turn, you run in, hit one, and fall prone lol!

BURROWNOMICON!
