Most i've seen are on Terminator size bases.

We play them on 50x50's around here I do believe.

Raised the same question myself a couple of months ago here on Dakka. Soon after most people agreed that the 50mm base is probably the best for the job. Any smaller is too small to actually contain 2 giant squigs and anything larger than 50mm is, well, way too large.

All the ones that i've seen have been on 40mm rounds.

We've been using 60mm rounds.

Pretty obviously has to be somewhere between 40 and 60 as a common sense thing. I think 50 would be best personally.
