Instead of 4 Combi-Meltas, I would recommend actually having 2 meltaguns, there's few situations where it would be less useful than the special issue, so it would be much more threatening.
I would also try and find a way to include a powerfist on your sternguard, or at least meltabombs.

Dropping down to 7 Man Squads gives me 2 Meltaguns, 4 Combi-Plasmas, and a Power Fist for the Sergeant, with an extra 10 points to spend.

I would go for a powerweapon on the MotF as he already has two st8 attacks. Then leave him with a pistol rather than a combi weapon or a bolter.

Actually I would go for combimeltas. The issue with drop pods is your range. Once they land they are walking so they need some ranged threat. 30'' is the longest range weapon you have and you have removed 4 of them.

Not necessarily. This is a drop pod army, You don't need range when you have a drop pod, because you're in there face. The on;y way you can get that 30 inches is if you're stationary, and even then you would be shooting for more STR 4 shots. Definitely not worth it when you could shoot a meltagun throughout the game. If you're desperate for STR 4 medium range weapons, always remember that the drop pods have stormbolters!
