We are pleased to have launched the new KR website. You can see the improvements we have made to the case and tray selection system, and it is now easier than ever to choose the best case and trays for your collection. Either select from the extensive range of armies covered by the KR range of cases and trays, or choose the KR case you want either by size or type, and then fill it with troop trays, troop & vehicle trays, cavalry trays, and so on to suit your needs.

KR are specialists in the storage and transport of miniature wargaming, and have a wider range of cases and trays for more game systems than any other manufacturer. KR cases are available for wargaming miniatures from companies such as GamesWorkshop, Warmachine & Hordes, Wings of War, Flames of War, Heavy Gear Blitz, MERCS, Malifaux, Puppet Wars and many more. More cases will be added to the list over the next few weeks !

The KR system is based around the philosophy of “soft foam for figures, hard cases for soft foam”. Gamers usually have to accept hard foam and hard tray bases as other transport systems for miniature figures require this hard foam/tray base combination due to the need to stack trays in tall piles in a soft outer bag. This in turn means that the trays must always be carried horizontal because as soon as they are carried side on your models will be in contact with the hard tray base of the tray above, which leads to broken models and scuffed paint.

Because of the problems with storing and transporting miniatures, the KR system is designed to provide protection for all armies from small to large. KR trays are manufactured from soft high tensile foam which cares much better for your figures as it supports your models and does not damage the paint finish.

A KR case can be carried or stored in any orientation (flat, side on, even upside down!) because the tray bases in KR trays are the same foam as the tray itself, so your figures have all-round protection.

We will be adding increased functionality to the website as well as a range of new trays and products over the next few weeks, keep KR bookmarked for your next army case.

You can find our new site at http://www.krmulticase.com, and a YouTube review of the new site by The Overlords at http://youtu.be/4eMoLE-9cwA

I'm an existing KR user and so got used to the old site and shall we say it's quirks but am pleased to see this update.

I have only had a quick look around on my phone but this seems much better and brighter.

Congrats on the hard work.

Can anyone compare the rigidity of KR foam to Reaper foam?

I can't compare it to Reaper foam, but as the bye-line says soft foam for hard cases. (that sounds like padding for tough guys )

Owning quite a few differant KR bags and trays (Standard, Vehicle, Epic sized and FoW), I can say that for its designed purpose (sitting in the case) the foam is more than adequate. I would call it paint friendly in that it is soft and the surface doesn't abraid or catch.

That said, there is not sufficient rigidity* to carry a foam tray one handed like you would a plastic canteen tray, especially with anything heavier than plastic troops in there. Even carried between two hands I would expect it to sag slightly when fully loaded.

However since this is not the intended purpose I don't see a problem with its rigidity or lack there of. That maybe because I have always decanted on to the table or a plastic tray, which seems more sensible.

* - the 10mm/Epic trays do have a layer of card in them making them very rigid and usable as a conventional tray.

Reaper foam is denser then KR foam, KR foam is the softest foam I've come across. KR has its positives and negatives, overall I'm happy with their product... Assuming my Keiser1 ever shows up.

Nice new website. Much easier to read now. It'd be better still if the tray selector was upgraded too.

I love KR they're so nice they even gave me a free case+foam bescause there was a delay on the new bags. They are my favorite people and are only 15 miles from where I live I've now discovered.

I must have 10 of their cases now.

Thanks, Cat.
All due respect, then, to the KR guys (who I think do run a good business), I'm extraordinarily happy I did not go with them for my recent foam purchase. I came across some reaper trays in a trade and I hate them. The foam is too soft and mushy, and I don't like that the bottoms are so flimsy, with no sturdiness. If KR is even SOFTER, I'd have been very unhappy.

The competitor of KR I bought from has the kind of foam that it perfect for me.

The KR foam is indeed softer than the reaper equivelent.

You want some softness in your foam. Too hard and it removes the paint from where it contacts the models.

True... but the Reaper foam has NO rigidity to it. If you stack trays outside of a case, the sides buckle a little. The more you stack, the more they buckle.
That's WAY too soft, IMO.
If KR's even softer... then it just won't work for me.

The foam I referred to is soft enough. It's from a major player in the creation of foam trays and cases. I won't mention the name -or even hint at it- because that would be rude in a KR thread.

Wow. Nice price increase to go with the new website.
A couple of months ago, Doubles to "rest of world" were $120. When you changed the site for the US market and Gencon, RoW jumped to $140. (US went up to $125) Now they're $160 for RoW for some reason.

Quad has gone from $240 to $280. Nice work there. I had planned to buy a few more. I'd actually planned to buy one the day I went and found you'd bumped the prices for RoW @ Gencon time. Now you've done it again, and once again, by a bloody big chunk.

On this note, I won't be buying any more. 20% price increase? No thanks.

Oh, and for any defenders - I'm well aware of the fact that they need to be posted. What's happened here is they've got a local US distributor and so have continued charging a similar amount to the US, while jacking up the RoW by a large margin from what they were already charging to send them to us.
