I mean really, what good does it do? Is there a place where I can see where they are exalted? Is it like the "like" button on FB?

The mods have mentioned they would like to put up a "most exalted threads" list at some point, so that's one purpose. It also saves the thread for you to look at later.

More or less, yes. It's just a way of saying that you think a thread is worthy of praise.

That list has been up for as long as the Exalt button. It's in the 'Top Threads' link at the top of the page.

I thought that was a list of threads with the most views, not exalts. My mistake.

Not threads. Replies (know I said post, but I was talking about the reply to the post. Derp ).

I know what exalting a thread will do, but I want to the point of exalting a reply.

At the moment, nothing other than give you a warm, fuzzy feeling of accomplishment.

Yeah, much like the 'friend' button, many of the potential uses for the 'exalt' feature will be implemented someday in the future.
