You're sat in an area productivity monthly meeting, and instead of paying attention to the Area Manager (droning on ), you're running through possible tactical options for assaulting the Pavonis Sector. Also when the aforementioned Area Manager asks you what you think, and a vacant look is all you have for an answer!!

Any others?

I hope that's not along the mindset that they are the same games. One is more macro focused and the other more micro focused.

Anyways, when you think, after playing necrons and winning, that it will transfer over into the table top.

I find Dark Crusade and Soulstorm more enjoyable than Space Marine, myself...

The biggest thing for me is when you think "Man, Dark Eldar and Eldar are so easy to play! I'm gonna start playing them on the tabletop."

Ah, I remember Dark Crusade when it first came out, when both Tau and Necrons (although Necrons moreso) simply slaughtered everything.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Yea, a couple minor upgrades to Firewarriors, and man they could just shoot anything down

Yeah, my Necron lord is pretty damn destructive, although i've conquered more with Capt Thule, nothing compares to the utter power and coolness of a fully upgraded monolith! First time against the Chaos forces: 12 daemons( 5 bloodthirsters 7 princes) Even Rocky Balboa couldn't take that many and win.

I dunno, playing through the campaign with IG, and that baneblade will own ANYTHING, and I mean anything. Ive won entire maps just from building one, and sending it alone into camps. Supposedly theres some DLC you can get that blanaces the game, and even one that makes them "codex realistic" some like fires over kronus or something. I tried it, and didnt like it one bit. You can tell right off the bat, they were hardcore space marine fans, and made them UBER in that version. It pissed me off too, obviously Im an Ork player at heart and so I try my boyz first, and I had a HUGE ass mob of them going after 1 unit of SM, just 1.......and they almost died, and there was 30 Ork choppa boyz in CC......against like 5 space marines. I just uninstalled it after a couple games.

Are you talking about Firestorm? If you think they are space marine fans, try running Grey Knights and get ready for a pummeling.

Edit - Maybe you ran an old edition or something, I've never had an issue like that. Of course you might not have even been playing firestorm.

I found FoK to be quite well balanced, even as SM.

Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Both true in my opinion

Dark Crusade is the king of warhammer video games, I still play it more than the others

Really?

I find the Eldar to be lacking in game as much as well...in another game.

That or maybe I need to stop playing Eldar as my opponent.

Well, it was leaked at some point that 11 of the programmers were die-hard Eldar fans, and that there were only 2 programmers representing the other races, In total.

This was known as "Dawn of Eldar" to players, because when the game was patched, no one ever nerfed the Eldar, and in the end, they were dang overpowered. Terms like "Fleet-of-foot-godmode" and "Find the last Webway gate!" were born. And Avatar of Khaine... I still remember the horror.

There is only the Emperor, and he is our shield and protector.

I love firestorm over kronus, my only problem is I have to only build anti tank guys and I can roflstomp through peoples bases...

but vanilla DC is pretty well balanced me thinks...

yup thats the one Im talking about. It might have been an early version, as I tried it forever ago. But yea, when I did try it, the SM were incredibly over powered.
