Squigs are cool, but I don't actually know much about them. Where do squigs come from? I don't mean who made them. I mean like when orks show up on a planet, how do the squigs get there and do all kinds of squigs show up? I noticed that one of the models has a targeting squig. How the ork dose that work? Also tell me if you know of any other cool squigs besides the basic food and attack squigs. Basically anything about squigs.

Squigs are another part of the Ork species, like Gretchin and Snotlings. They grow from fungus just like the other ork subspecies.

Orks and Squigs act as a balance in the ork ecosystem, Orks eat the Squigs, Squigs eat the Orks' er... excrements.

Other than regular squigs for eating and attack squigs there are also Face-biter squigs which are almost a combination of the two used in Ork squigeating competitions. Rules are simple, Ork vs. Facebiter Squig, if the Ork eats the Squig he wins, if he falls back screaming with the Squig on his face or without his face he loses.

P.S. I think I read somewhere that in previous editions, Squigs were actually a variety of Tyranids that the Orks adopted, claiming they were very orky. This isn't cannon anymore but I found it interesting, and you asked for anything about squigs.

The targeting squig works because some ork couldn't see well so he punched a Mek into making him something to help. The result was that fat big eyed critter sitting on his shoulder today

Hair squigs are currently my favorite kind of squig. The idea of implanting, and then grooming, a parasitic fungus as a hair implant is just hilarious.

I give high praise to gargoyle squigs, when a nid gargoyle absorbs a squigg, the result is truly horrifying. Especially when it's a hair squig

If a tyranid gargoyle were to absorb the genetic code of a hair squig, I would imagine something like Donald Trumps toupe with wings.

There are also medicine squigs (used either by crushing them in a syringe to inject -as 'urty syringe or with long stings that you can jab into a patient to inject them with the same. Bad Docs (i miss bad docs- they were a type of hq painboy back when, famous for doing squig brain transplants on orks, implanting a squig in place of the patients brain) always used the 'urtiest' syringe squigs they could find..

Paint squigs, squiggoths, eating squigs, fermentable squigs for squig beer. Ork ecology is basically self-sustaining, as orks shed spores that often become squigs

You have a severe misunderstanding of how Tyranids manipulate genetics.

The squig would be absorbed back into a digestion pool, then a Norn Queen would come up with something to use the genetic code for. if it doesn't want the genetic code, they ignore it. Individual Tyranids that eat other life forms do not take on that life forms characteristics.

Also, Bad Docs removing Ork brains and replacing them with squigs gives me an awesome mental image of an army of Orks that act like Opie from Family Guy.

Are squiggoths just giant squigs that are nothing but teeth or are they something different.

Also, when an ork dies he releases spores that float around on the breeze until hitting the ground and culminating. These spores turn into fungus, grots, squigs or orks. They can spawn anywhere, particularly on battlefields but also inside enemy encampments or in the jungle. If orks spawn in a jungle they are feral orks that want one thing: to join their parents (Is that the right word) tribe. If that tribe dies out he makes his own tribe until he has one big enough to launch a feral WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

What he described sounds more like Kroot Biology than 'nids. Imagine the Tau's LizardChickens taking in Hairsquig DNA
