While Tyranids on the ground assaulted Nothren fortress and Ultramrines 1'st company and captured Cold Steel Ridge, what happened to the rest of the planet?
The planet capital the Fortress of Hera? Did they came under attack to? A am surprised that the Tyranids didn't sense Guiliman in stasis and tried to consume him

The Emperor doesn't have a GKs unshakable faith in the Emperor which is....basically himself?

My own little happy place

I actually always thought Guiliman was on Terra, But all over Macragge tyranids attacked and even after the Ultramarines won they had to clean up house for a while as Old one eye went on a rampage. But nothing is mentioned about Guiliman in the tyranids' codex.

I tried being normal but it's boring so now I'm back to being insane

Given that the stasis field supposedly freezes the passage of time itself (or moves the objects within to a different continuum, or some such pseudoscience), it should come as no surprise the Tyranids cound not detect Guilliman.

Moreover, stasis field generators have been established in various bits of fluff as being portable; if you need an explanation, presume he was hidden, along with his generator in some deep vault, or carried off-planet before the battle.

The Tyranids were focused on destroying the polar defense fortresses because they were keeping the bulk of the Tyranid force from landing.
Any attack anywhere else were probably from either vanguard forces or scattered broods, which would have been dealt with by garrisoned Ultramar PDF.

It's not the most dignified image, no - though the rescue of Guilliman's sarcophagus would make a cool, fun premise for a short story or a tabletop scenario.

I can see it now. You, a valiant Ultramarine captain, must take your meager force to recover the sacred rowboat housing Girlyman. You could fight against a Big Mek trying to uncover it's secrets or an Archon wanting the Adonis like creature as a "plaything". Maybe the Classy Marines themselves could descend in their lavish Drop Pods to aid you on your mighty quest

This. The whole point of the polar fortresses was defense against attacks from orbit. The Tyranids needed them neutralised so they could land more troops without an unacceptable loss of biomass. The rest of the planet mattered little until they could drop those defenses.

Yeah, Tyranids will attack the strong points before they attempt to consume the planet.

All in all, the rest of the planet may have seen fairly light fighting.

There is a joke out there somewhere that several genestealers found Guilliman and tried to eat him, only to end up half trapped in the stasis field. The joke continues that the Ultramarines found them like that and that the Genestealers confused the Hive Mind when removed.

As I recall, Ultramar was not really seriously infected with Tyranid spores or anything like like (RATHER LUCKY) considering how many planets get screwed over early on in an invasion, which in turn suggests they were perhaps ignoring the bulk of the planet and focusing first on the defenses. Hive Fleet Behemoth was the first and least subtle of the 'Nid fleets, all told.

Yeah, the main reason Macragge survived was not because the Ultramarines were so awesome, or anything of the sort. The Nids had not encountered real human defenses before. They hadn't evolved any special creatures or successful tactics. "Run directly at their guns!" worked great on the first lightly held planets and outposts, but failed utterly here.
