So, I finally got my BF Spartan Games bag in the mail about a week ago. I've already ported it around to a couple of game stores, so I figure it's about time for some initial impressions! ;D

-The trays fit their designed models quite well; especially impressive to me are the battleship and dreadnought slots. They don't seem like they are big enough to fit the model, but then they slide in like a glove!

-There is quite a decent amount of carrying capacity in this bag. It looks like I will be able to carry two factions worth of land, air, and sea units, including flyers and upgrade ships like the escorts and dreadnoughts.

-The additional storage on this bag is sufficient for the rulebook, unit cards, and the markers/templates needed to play the game. I'm not sure you could squeeze the number of dice you need in, and if you go overboard with 3rd party markers and tokens like I do, you will still need a separate bag/tray to carry those in.

-The embroidered game patches are a really nice touch, and are also really well done. About the only thing I wish was there were faction patches, so I went and had some of my own made .

-The trays being used in this bag are half the standard BF size; they are actually small enough to fit into a Sabol Designs army transporter, if one had one of those bags and just wanted to get some off-the-shelf foam that is better suited to DW than pluck and pick.

Overall, this is a really high-quality bag, and the trays are great for carrying a lot of models in a compact package. I am very happy with my purchase!

I have not got the bag, but I did order trays for my CoA and FSA starter fleets. The cut outs in the trays are great for the most part. The trays have to be deep enough to handle the capital ships, but I find that it makes it a little hard to dig the smaller ships out of their slots. I took some foam bits and stuck them in the slots for the smaller ships to make the smaller ships sit higher in the slot. Problem solved.

That's a good idea...I have plenty of Sabol pluck and pick cast-offs floating around, so I will have to give that a try

I tend to glue fliers to their bases.
I see they make spots for the bases and stems.

Is it possible to leave fliers on their bases, or does it only work for removeable ones?

Mainly asking because my Firestorm Armada are all glued on, but I have not yet built my Dystopian Wars British.

Bam, said the lady!

Unfortunately, the DW trays I have are mainly set up for flyers with removable bases. The only exception I've found so far is the slot for the Prussian sky fortress, which is large enough to accommodate the model while mounted to its flying base. I cannot speak for the FA trays, as I haven't gotten mine yet . However, looking at the pictures and the tray dimensions, I'm guessing that they aren't designed to accommodate models that are permanently based.

I also received mine a few days ago with standard loadouts for FSA and CoA. Yes, I ordered the bag for a game I haven't played in months. I am disappointed that the flight stands stick out so much from the foam - I read the disclaimer on the website, but never actually measured them. You have to cut them down by about half for them to fit right. Although, you can just stick them sideways in an extra carrier slot, so...

I also don't like the fact that the trays are carried sideways, but that seems to be the latest trend in BF bags.
