I feel like I'm beginning to venture into Apocalypse territory and when I looked up army lists some of the contained like, 5 full squads of termies 3 full scout squads and blah blah blah basically way more than 3 units of elites. Is there a method to this madness or are there unlimited elites in apocalypse? OR was that army list just bs and they guy is just blowing hot air...

There is no FOC in Apoc games. Go wild.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Yea, in apocolypse you don't even have to be held back by codex. You can have IG fighing beside SM and Tyranids

this is how you play apocalypse if you all have small armies and can't do it right.
the BEST apocalypse games involve 2-3 players at most per side, packing 10,000+ points of units each, with realistically aligned forces. (Chaos/Daemons/Guard(Traitor) vs Marines/Grey Knights/Guard(Loyal))... preferably all painted.

If you feel like you should "make" an army list (ie. go for the best stuff, thinking about making the best army possible and look forwards to bringing that totally powerful unit to kick your opponents behind), you have missed the point of Apocalypse.

+1 To this thought! APOC is a different beast then standard play, its big, long and cumbersome but it looks fantastic. The two best peices of advice I can give you are... Stay away from Super Heavies and always bring AA weapons.

This, putting a super heavy is like hanging a "shoot Me" sign on your head. Baneblades/shadowsword type units die very fast, (even with structure points). Most games I've seen one they get tabled rather fast.

So you're saying that normally APOC demands a better story line than standard?

thats the entire point of apoc IMO.
Why play it if your not going to go all-out?
Large, fully-painted armies should be a requirement... it should be like a war re-enactment.
I mean, if all you wanna do is play competitive 40k thats fine, but apoc is too easily broken if your trying to break it.
