Here is my second list for the 1000 point team tourney I will be competing in.

HQ:

Emperor's Champion with AACNMTO: 140
Marshal with Power Weapon, Storm Shield, Artificer Armor and Adamantine Mantle: 165

Elites:

Sword Brethren Terminators with 2x AC and Tank Hunters: 265

Dreadnought: Multi Melta, Extra Armor, Smoke: 123

Troops:

5 Initiates 3x Bolter Las/Plas: 105
-Rhino with Extra Armor and Smoke: 58
5 Initiate 3x Bolter Las/Plas: 105
-Lazerback with Extra Armor and Smoke: 98

Total: 1059 points

Suggestions on how to trim the 59 points would be great in addition to other feedback. It is tempting to ditch the terminators and try to cram a LRC with a smack their faces in Crusader Squad into the list, especially since terminators do not score. I would most likely drop the dreadnought if that is the case.

The strategy I would use with this list would be to drive my Rhino and Lazerback to objectives, then park the Las/Plas squads on them. Not sure who the Marshal or EC would ride with yet. The terminators and dreadnought will advance on enemy held objectives and either eliminate the enemy or contest the objectives. I may put the marshal with the termies in order to eliminate some enemies who will strike before me.

If I take a LRC and BP/CCW Crusader squad instead of the terminators and/or the dreadmought, those units would fulfill the same purpose, except with a ridiculous assault range and the ability to score objectives.

Please tell me what you think of the list and my general strategy. Thanks

Trade the Lazorback for a rhino with smoke and extra armour and remove the artificer armour from the Marshall

Not enough scoring units.
I would consider dropping the marshal at this points range.
Get a different dread setup they give him tank hunters.

I would want two laserbacks just to be able to move and shoot so your two scoring units are not sitting targets.

Ditch the ACs on the Terms and get CMLs. I love the concept of ACs, but they always end up letting me down. CMLs will most likely be firing on t1, and fulfill duality with kraks and frags.

Ditch the Marshal, he's a solid setup but too expensive at 1000, bulk up your troops. You won't want to be in an objective game with only 10 troops even if they're marines.

Dread: If he's MM/CCW he needs a Pod, if not, make him a ven tankhunter with TLLC/ML.

Good

Drop him altogether, he is too much at this level.

Drop the AC and go with CML. Keep the squad at the minimum of 5 guys.

If you want to go this way he needs a pod. Otherwise you can do like Movac said and go with the ven/tankhunter with TL LC and ML.
Honestly I'd just drop him though.

Yup solid and good.

Drop the Lazerback as the las/plas will do nothing inside it and it chews up points. Add a rhino. You need another squad like this one.

BT uses the Codex Astartes as toilet paper. They’re an Imp Fist successor, recruit from multiple planets, and are known to be the largest Chapter in the galaxy. They’re on a constant Crusade, keeping it real for the Emperor and not bumming around like the other guys. They hate psykers and can’t ally with them. They’re basically an entire chapter of Chaplains. CC lunatics. What every Space Marine should aspire to be, if not trapped in a Matt Ward nightmare.

OK. Thanks for the tips. Unfortunately I am too poor to afford a drop pod as I already have to buy a Devastator squad for the heavy weapons and the dread is from AoBR. I am already going to be borrowing a rhino or two so I don't want to feel like more of a mooch.

My questions for you:

The third Las/Plas squad, should it contain BP/CCW marines, and should I make it a ten man?

If I manage to obtain CMLs before the tourney, I would absolutely use them. Do you guys know the stats of how many infantry will be killed with just storm bolters as opposed to assault cannons?

Lastly, should the Las/Plas squads even disembark from the Rhinos because of two models being able to shoot? And how does get hot work for a unit firing from a vehicle. Thanks

No I'd go bolter all the way on all squads. These guys shouldn't be in CC. Use the PE as a deterent to keep guys away.
The pod can be easily scratch built from some plasticard. Half the time I used empty coke bottles (guess which part of the states I'm from).
You can use almost anything to make CMLs. I've even seen some decent plasticard conversions for CML. 1 for 1 you will kill more with assault cannons. I can't give you an exact mathhammer response but assault cannons do more damage.
As for the Las/Plas squads stay inside. You want the Lascannon and plasma gun to be the only thing firing. 2 slots 2 special weapons.
Gets hot still works the same as if they were on foot outside of the vehicle. In other words the PG marine is the only one who can get hurt but he will benefit from anything the same as if on foot. The only difference is morale. You can't take a morale check since you are inside a vehicle.
