I was think of hwo to counter my friedn assault termiantors and started thinking about a sqaud of Chaos Assault terminators.

Obviously we dont have access to Thunderhammers but i am curious as to how they compare game and price wise to loyalist ones. here's the run down of a squad of 5 Chaos Assautl termies:

5 Terminator Champions (so an extra attack each)
all with Twin Lightning Claws (another attack)
Mark of Khorne (another attack)
Land Raider Transport

So that would give you 5 terminators with claws, all of whom have 6 attacks on the charge, all with re-rolls to wound.

TOTAL UNIT COST: 500

Is this in any way competative when compared to the loyalist version? Just curious.

on the forum. Obviously

Hmmm...It looks good...but 500pts is a lot for one squad. You'll have to kill at least 10 Asstermies (50pts each, right?) in order to make it worth it.
That said it does look pretty formidable. you get 30 attacks total with furious charge (MoK, right?) , so 3+ to wound with rerolls.

What I have

It's a lot of eggs in one basket, but you'll murder most anything you charge. As long as it's not other assault Terminators or uniquely equipped Nobz or whatever you should do fine.

MoK is simply +1A. Bezerkers dont have FC from the MoK, they just have it.

Exactly. There's no rules for "proper" Khornate Terminators, so these are the closest you can get. So it would still be 4's & 4's in combat (assuming they are fightign marines)

The major downside is that the only chaos terminator claws come in the Lord kit. Or you can buy and convert a loyalist kit.

EDIT: or go to Bitzand Kits and get 5 sets of SW Wolf Claws for 75p each. A bit of shaving and they would work a treat!

How much woudl a similar loyalist squad cost? So 5 termies with claws and a Raider?

About 200 points for the termies and the raider is 250ish, depending on what you want. Remember that assault termies are 40pt base whetehr you have LCs or TH/SS....

Yep, i miss my real bezerker terminators!

They seem about even, I guess. Although the real bennie to the Th/SS combo is not the TH, but the SH. The three plus save just dynamite. I know a guy who runs Chaos. I'll loan him some termies and see how this plays out in actual combat.
