Here we go...

1: About how many wargamers are out there?

2: About how many play airsoft. If you do, please say so.

3: (Pulling from an older thread, Found below) Would you approve GW making 40k themed airsoft guns?

Please respond, as I might make a petition for GW to make 40k themed airsoft guns, if we get enough posts. thank you for your consideration.

1: No idea. Lots? More than 2 less than 10 billion.
2. No idea. Not actually sure what airsoft is actually, though the gun part of the next question makes me think it may be like paintball.
3. Yeh probably, though if it's like paintball you'd pay the same as most small cars though.

I know at least three guys here in where I live who plays both 40k and Airsoft (I am not one of them though). In any case, I'd say a bolter airsoft gun would be freakishly cool. I support it, and I believe my friends would do too.

Yeah Airsoft crap tend to be more realistic looking and shoots little plastic BB's instead of .68mm paintballs. The two sports (if you want to call them that) are similar but different enough to really be two whole things.

1. That's a really hard question to answer, hard enough trying to judge how many you have local let alone beyond that.
2. Less than play just wargames? I don't think I know any myself, actually I don't know anyone that plays Airsoft since we graduated HS, couple got into paintball though.
3. Sure why not? If it looked good and worked ok at a decent price I may snag one for novelty even

I know a few gamers who are peripherally into both however it is quite expensive and you're relying on other people to take their hits. Which even in paintball doesn't happen. (cue myself and a para skelping arses of 12 year olds at close range )

As for 40k based guns I'd rather them for laser tag. Much better than airsoft or paintball.

From what I've seen, shops that sell models and games that take to selling BB guns attract entirely the wrong crowd. I know a few shop owners that have said they would never sell such things, and that's not an anti-gun thing because they own shops full of military models and some collect militaria.

2. Yessir, I've been playing airsoft for about three years. My favorite money pit

3. I think that would be totally awesome, but a little impractical. With their large size and boxy shape, they'd be a little uncomfortable. But would I still buy one? Heck yes. I'd trade in my KWA USP Compact for a Bolt Pistol any day of the week haha

Thanks for all the input.

At: Phototoxin: My only problem with lazertag is, just how affordable (And reliable) are retail lazertag sets? I had a set that worked for aproximately 15 minutes, but it may yet be salvaged. I know that at amusement parks (and the like) have really tough, sturdy sets, but this is meant more for the average wargamer that just wants to pick up a lasgun, point it at a friend, and say "Raise your weapon, dirty heretic!"

At: Howard a Treesong: I feel like you may be right, but this is more just an experimental run, and would be put out on GW, and the independant retail stores could say "We don't want that."

Anyone else out there with an opinion, please do say!

Real men run with scissors. Yea your mom might have said its dangerous, but thats the fun.
Oh and we graduated from rubber bbs to real bbs as soon as we could get ahold of real bb guns.

1: a surprising amount really
2: Airsoft is illegal in Australia and you can't import the guns etc
3: only if the laws in Australia changed, except that like all things in Aus these days they would be massively overpriced compared to other countries

Haha, I see what you're saying now. I love shooting real guns (shooting trap being my favorite), but airsoft is just a fun challange/past time. A lot of my airsofting friends also own real firearms; it's not a "safety" issue, it's just fun shooting your friends with bb's

On that note, I'm actually saving up for a starter over/under for trap shooting

As my avatar would suggest, i play paintball. I think a warhammer themed game would be awesome, just not sure how you can do it. I've yet to see a single field incorporate riot shields and not have them be ridiculous yet. Then again, I've only gone to about 5 different events.

Edit - Wow I read the thread all wrong. Yeah no they won't make that kind of thing. It more reserved to people who are good at modding their guns.

Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Do you shoot rubber BBs or real (ie metal) BBs. We always used metal.

Depends on if I can get a 3000 RPM airsoft Splinter Cannon with cool sound effects and a truck full of Co2. Even better would be an airsoft Dark Lance that shoots a metal BB at 8000FPS.

1. About 1 out of every 100 people are wargamers. About 1 out of 50 are familiar with them but dont play them.
2. I have played paintball a few times. I am not fond of the welts.
3. Why?. Gun modders might make a few cool custom builds, but i don't see a large enough market for it to justify production costs. On the other hand if you could produce a safe and effective reliable paintball grenade you would have a hot selling item.

If they sold airsoft at GW I bet it would take less than ten minutes before somebody opened fire on someone else's tabletop army. Bloody meelee would then commence.
