FCB Warhammer 40k Escalation League

The following will detail the rules, format, schedule and prizes for the upcoming escalation league tournament. Some rules may be subject to change or revision before the event. In the case of any changes an updated email will be sent. Any questions can be directed to me either by email or at the shop: (770) 993-6955.

Schedule
The first round of the tournament will begin at noon on Saturday, November 5th. There will be two weeks between rounds (ex: Nov. 5th, 19th, Dec 3rd, etc.) and any round that does not conclude that Saturday will continue the following Sunday. If a round has not finished by the end of the day Sunday, then it will roll over into the next scheduled day two weeks later.

The last day to sign up for the tournament is October 31st.

Format
Round one will start at 500 points, and each successive round adding 250 points (round 2: 750, round 3: 1000, etc) with the final round point cost being 2000. Rules are confined to the core rulebook and current codex (no Cities of Death, Apocalypse, etc.). Ideally we will be running three tables at a time as space allows.

Rules
Printed army lists (handwritten army lists will not be accepted) must be handed in at the beginning of a round with point cost and wargear for all units listed. If you do not have an army list then you will not be allowed to play in that round.

Minor proxies are allowed on a case by case basis (playing a marine with a missile launcher as a proxy for a marine with a flamer is fine, but playing a guardsman as a leman russ demolisher is not) so long as your army list reflects what you are actually fielding. All proxies must be approved before you field, and must be noted in the army list at the time it is submitted. Proxies are limited to three models per army.

The rounds will be scored, with no elimination for losses. The point cost is as follows: 4 points for a win, 2 points for a draw, 1 point for a loss. Points will also be awarded for certain activities outside of rounds. For showing significant progress in painting between rounds (base coating a unit is not significant progress) you gain 1 point. For purchasing and building a unit specifically for the tournament you gain 1 point. At the end of round six the person with the most points is the victor.

Prizes
The tournament champion will receive $100 in Games Workshop product. There will also be a $25 store credit prize for best in show (best overall looking army).
