Hi, I hope this is in the correct area of the forum but have never used the fantasy part of dakka before, my question is hopefully a simple one, I have come into possession of some tomb kings and I have about 40+ warriors to build however know very little about fantasy and my friends who do play don't know about 8th edition, I was hoping to get views and reasons of how to equip my warriors as I have no clue as to the bonuses of swords spears ect and require some assistance. Furthermore any tips on what elce to include in the army would be great.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Well, I would get the Army Book first off. we can't tell you the rules.

As for whats tactically best, generally people go for spear and shield OR Bowmen. Parry saves(sword and shield only) are nice, but it doesn't save many skeletons and you can bring them back with magic and spears actually give you some additional killing power.

I wouldn't expect rules or any points values ect just what people think is best will suffice.

Well, I would make an even mix of Spearmen and Bowmen. with command options for the spearmen(banner bearer, champion, and musicion)

Your using mass skeletons usually but it depends on what the rest of your army is.

Spearmen can attack in an extra rank and with magic you can give them all killing blow. Which is makes them scary to normal troops. If you're a horde you would get 3 ranks of supporting attacks (something's gonna die eventually...).

Shield and Light armor is basically a tarpit. Or anvil. With your ability to raise them they are hard to put down. No, it doesn't save often, but LA is the same cost as a spear. You throw that at the enemies killy troops and let them sit there killing your cheapo skeletons while you do something more important. You don't need to give LA if you really want to make an expendable unit and save a few points.

But yeah, get the army book.
