So I'm planning on starting a pretty ambitious project. I have an idea for a unit of squats that my lost company of space wolves comes across on a far flung outpost. Reminding them of their legends from the realm of Nioavellir they decide to bring them along. The idea is to model them onto scale toys converted over to resemble WWII Indian scouts or Soviet Yural Bikes. Adding on bolt pistols, melta bombs and whatever else to make them WYSIWYG. My question is what should I use as the base for my squats? I know I'm pretty much screwed as far as legs go and I'll be stuck with making them primarily out of GS, but can anyone point me in the direction of multi-part torso, heads and arms that might work? I'm looking for something more straight up dwarvey rather than the more 1%er look of the old RT squat bikers.

[img]Why not go with the Mantic Forgefathers? They have legs that are already farily widely set and separate arms that you could position at various angles. The torsos aren't separate, but the only dwarves with separate torsos that I know of are the standard GW Dwarves.

Here's the mantic Dwarf sprue. Though not yet released, the Forgefathers are likley a reworking (new torsos and arms) of this sprue.

As for bikes, Hot wheels has a few that might work, though you'll have to have a dremmel if you want to mod them.

I actually really like the stuff I've got from Mantic so far but the only finished product I'm aware of with the forgefathers is the heavy weapons team and I feel like those models have no character.

I must be completely inept at using google but I can't find a picture of the basic Dwarf sprue online. Will the torsos except two independent arms for separate weapons?
