Dangerous Duet

So I played Space Marine (of course) and it made me had some idea. First of all of course, is that we need a figure for Titus and Nemeroth . Second of all, chaos need to be united under one single codex with new rules . Third... well there's no third yet lol. What did you thought about the game and do you think some elements of it should be present in w40k mini game?

The sniper rifle. It was introduced in the game Firewarrior. Then GW made models and a WD article.
PS that same article also intoduced the rules for mounted daemonettes in 40k 3rd or 4th ed.

The Rail Rifle wasn't exactly a sniper rifle when they first added it. It was more like a plasma gun upgrade for Pathfinder squads, great for taking down MEQs.
I remember my friend was ecstatic when they added it. The very next game we played he had rail rifle armed Pathfinders slagging my Salamanders.
And honestly, I would be pretty happy if they did something like that again. I loved the random additions they made through chapter approved.

QFT, that game was aweful. A Titus character would be cool though, I have grown to like the big blue lug.

Sorry, as a video game player, I waited and waited and waited for this game to come out, and maybe that was the problem! Maybe there was too much waiting, and there was nothing that could live up to the exps rations that grew.
It is the same thing over and over, there is no variety to the levels, and for that I cry shame on you gw. They could and should have had more creative input and come up with brilliant game.

meh, if you want a good story, read a book. If you want to waste a few hours, play a video game. You shoot/hit/chop things till they die. Gears/Halo and all the rest, thats all there is to them. I would have to agree your expectations were a tad bit high.

Did you seriously think a SM game would be anything other than hack and slash? 40k problem has always been it has so much interconnecting, vast background its alot easier to not put any in at all, because trying to do it justice will lead to an 90 minutes lecture featuring text upon a screen! ala Lynch's Dune which managed to both water down and numb its background into unbearable tedium.

Brotip: Watch gameplay trailers. I watched the trailer for Space Marine and knew exactly what I was buying, and it was fantastic.
I think a Titus character would be sweet. It would be interesting to see what GW does with SM in the coming <insert period of time here>.

one thing about Space marine that didnt make sense to me was the mission that the ultramarines got sent on should have been a grey knight mission, especially since the main mission was to save an inquisitor... any thoughts otherwise??

Grey Knights aren't always available, and when the mission was put together there was no sign of forces of the Ruinous Powers.
Just lots and lots and lots of Orks.

Titus is just a captain with psychic resistance. He's a badass captain, but he doesn't have much else than that. As for a model, there's a similar head on the devastator sprue but the detailed armor pieces would be cool. Nemaroth is awesome though, and a model of him would be really cool. Likewise with the Chaos cultists. The Warboss was also awesome, even if he got entirely too little screentime. Would make a fun model.

Grey Knights wouldn't have any interest in killing Orks on a Forge World.
Remember, when the mission started:
- They had no idea there was an Inquisitor there
- There was no clue daemons/chaos might be involved
It was just another Waaaagh.

That's the problem I have with the UM. Three guys taking down an entire waaagh? I know you hear of another squad "moving on the objective" when you talk to them in the manufactorum, but that's a total of 13 marines. No dreads, no tanks. Where are all the other guys?

I feel like GW could make good money releasing models after the video games that are created from their IP. Others have said it before, and I agree; they are missing an opportunity to cash in.
