I think you should drop your sentinals, they die way too fast. The Executioner, I like the tank but if this is only 1000 points try getting more on the table. If I were you, drop the Executioner as well. This leaves you enough space to add 2 LRBTs. this leaves you with a grand total of 990 points.

Black Templars are the best Space Marine Chapter out of all the Space Marines. They are the most fanatical marines out there. They are on an endless, eternal crusade for the god emperor. AND they get in the face of the enemy. Thats the way to get things done.

Your options are alittle limited for making a list. Either you depend on a random ally or you don't and make a list that stands alone. This answer leads to making a attack list or a defensive list.

I would be cautious and go defensive (someone has to hold objectives after all) and stand alone. Only person you can depend on is yourself...can't control what they are going to do, all you can control is what you do.

I also support the drop of the Sentinels. BS 3 and it is super easy to get AV 10 side shots on them...

Here is the kicker on something like a Manticore... they are awesome at what they do, but they are scatterable artillery. You read Nurgl's post above? Same holds for arty like that. Scatter into your ally or your own troops and you feel kinda silly (and gets some guy pissed at you).

I also have to support the dropping of the Executioner to a LRBT or upgrading the second tank to a Executioner. In 40k, Redundancy is key.

I will make two lists for you... an agressive mech list where you need to hope your ally defends home objectives and your Manticore and a gunline list.

Agressive..

CCS - 145pts
4x Melta guns, Chimera with HHF

CCS - 145pts
4x Melta guns, Chimera with HHF

Vets - 155pts
3x Melta guns, Chimera with HHF

Vets - 155pts
3x Melta guns, Chimera with HHF

LRBT Executioner - 200pts
Heavy Stubber

LRBT Executioner - 200pts
Heavy Stubber

Easy to play... move 6" and shoot...

Defensive

CCS - 110pts
LC, Standard, Vox, Camo Cloaks

Lord Commissar - 80pts (Attached to HWS)
Camo Cloak, Bolter

Platoon

PCS - 50pts
AC, 2x Sniper Rifles

PIS - 135pts (blob)
Commissar, 2x PW, AC, Melta gun, Vox, Melta bomb

PIS - 85pts (blob)
PW, AC, Melta gun, Melta bomb

Vets - 170pts
LC, 3x Plasma guns, Sentries, Vox

HWS - 105pts
3x LCs

HWS - 105pts
3x LCs

Manticore - 160pts

Keep the CCS 12" of everything but the Manticore for Orders. Keep the second HWS and PCS within 6" of the Lord Commissar's HWS for his Aura of Discipline. Even the Vets can benifit from the Lord but that might be to much stuff packed in together. Normaly I wouldn't take a Standard on the CCS, but since they have to be within 12" for Orders, might as well give them a re-roll on Morale and pinning checks. Sentries and Camo Cloaks gives those 3 units +3 cover saves and makes them the most durable of your units. Use the blob to bubble wrap your Manticore to protect it from DSing melta guns and assaulters. They have melta guns for DSing terminators and drop pod Dreads. Every unit has a answer for AV 14... and something to do at range. Normally on a list like this I would suggest Creed, just for 4 Orders a turn at 24" range. If you want him, drop a HWS and replace the CCS Standard with a Plasma gun. I am sure you can find a home for the last 15pts... maybe toys for the Lord Commissar.

Hope this gives you some ideas, good luck!

Not a problem with sentinels per se, but taking them here has meant you scrimping on the CCS, vet loadouts. Better to make these viable units first.
