Why wasn't Horus made into a daemon prince? I mean he was extremely powerful and yet a bunch of other noob csm's(relative to Horus) were turned into Daemon Princes much earlier! In the Ultra Marine movie, that traitor Marine was turned into a daemon prince without doing much(well compared to Horus)

Also in the Dawn of War Games, are Aspiring Champions turned into Blood thirster or are they just sacrificed to be used to summon a blood thirster

The Chaos gods were pooling far too much power into him. If he transformed he would hold onto it and would likely rival the Chaos gods in strength. That is why they pull their power from him as the Emperor struck the killing blow.

Spoiler:
The Daemon Prince in the Ultramarine movie was the leader of the Chaos warband that slaughtered the Imperial Fists. The movie didn't show an ascention, it showed a possession. The Prince possessed the Captian.

The Aspiring Champions are used as a sacrifice. It is impossible to become a Bloodthirster as they are full Daemons. The closest you could get is Daemon Prince of Khorne.

Cause the Emperor removed him from existence. Not just killed in the pyshical sense, but erased from the warp.

Which is prolly why Chaos were so afraid of Big E now that I think about it.

I presume that the question was why Horus had not become a daemon prince before his battle with the Emperor.

My answer to which would be, in a very loose and fluffy way, that to become achieve daemonhood require that an individual consciously choose to serve Chaos, whereas Horus believed he was mastering it.

That would be a poor tactical move on Horus' part.

The only chance he had to stand against the Emperor was because he was still essentially himself. The Emperor would have had no reservations about killing a Daemon Prince.

Horus never wanted to be daemon, as far as I can tell, he thought what he was doing was for the good of mankind. And for personal stuff too.

Check out my little ork story I am working on here!

Who's to say he -wasn't- offered daemonhood and turned it down?

Maybe he would have been offered it if he'd won at the siege of the Emperor's palace.

Well, no other Space Marines were offered Daemonhood until AFTER the Heresy IIRC, obviously they were alive. More importantly, Horus thought he was mastering Chaos, or allying with it. He didn't want to be a pawn again, he wanted to rule humanity, for his own gain or because he thought he would do a better job than the Emperor. As a Daemon, he wouldn't have been able to do any of the things he did in the Heresy. Same reason why Abaddon isn't a Daemon Prince, because he needs to be mortal to lead the armies of Chaos against the Imperium.

Both Horus and Abaddon canonically did not accept offers of Daemonhood. I read that in either the 3rd Edition or 4th Edition CSM codex.

Also Horus fooled the Emperor and Sangunius right up until the full heresy battle. Because Horus did want want them to know that is why he sent Sanguinius into that place to fight daemons and stuff i forgot exactly where he went. So it would have gave him away and he would not have be
en able to overthrow the Emporer like he wanted. At least not when he wanted to. That is what i think anyway it may not be correct however.
