Hello Dakka, long time lurker, fist time poster. If this is in the wrong spot I am sorry, but I was wondering if anyone knows anything about an independant retailer called "Heavy support games" based out of Toronto Canada? they seem legit but some aspects of their web store payment policy seem dodgy to me. Before I hand over my money I was hoping for some feedback from anyone who has dealt with them before. Thanks in advance.

Hello vedreag,
while never buying from their website i have been to their store multiple times and they are very friendly and seem "legit" as you called it .
They tend to run about 20%+ off everything they sell and they order items in with discounts if you pay in person/cash.
Not sure if this answered your question but i've bought/ordered from them at their store and have had no problems other than their somewhat weird hours .

ok that helps thanks, I was concerned because I have never used them before and when I ordered he wrote up a PDF invoice and asked me to enter the total amount in the Donation field when using Paypal...that just seemed odd to me but I guess its alright.

Donations don't suffer the normal PayPal fee...however, you are not protected for these transactions as for normal PayPal purchases (you're donating, not buying) so I don't recommend doing it for anyone you don't know.

This. "Yeah just pay us in the donation section and that way we will both avoid the paypal fees" 2 months go by...."where's my stuff?!"
"you gave us a donation remember?"

I gotta say I've been buying my Warhammer and Warmahordes stuff from Heavy Support Games since he was just starting.
From what I know hes just working out a new way to buy online since GW put the hammer down on shopping carts. I've spent 1000's of dollars there and mostly online. When ever he ships your product you get a tracking number.
I've recomended the store to all my friends in northern Ontario and they've all had a good experience and are also repeat customers now.

I have bought from that store once or twice. The only reason why I do not shop there is because it's just to far away for me to go to.
Great guy, great store, Awsome prices. I don't shop online so I can't comment on that. Sorry, but he is legit. Also if you are in Canada, and you pay with Cedit Card if anything goes wrong, you can always reverse the charges for non recieved goods.
I haven't shopped there in 3 or so years. I was there when Space Hulk was released. Again, I went to buy just Space Hulk, $100 worth of stuff, I ended up paying about $200 with about $300 worth of stuff. I belive prices are about 20% off now instead of 30% back then.
I also believe shipping is free anything over $150, not sure if that is still the same as well.

the free shipping is still there and everything is 20% off retailer value, one of the best places i've seen so far, although I may get a credit card first and use that instead of paypal

Yes get a Pre Paid Credit Card. If anything goes wrong, you can get your money back.
We had a pre paid Mastercard and daughter bought some boots from China, wich I told her not to do. Well her boots never came in and my wife called the Pre Paid Master card. It took over 3 months but we eventually got out money back.
Maybe Pre Paid Visa will be better to use. But you shouldn't have any problems with Heavy Support Games. Just make sure who ever he uses to ship doesn't leave your stuff on the door step if nobody is home.

yeah I live out east in Canada as far east as you can get and then a bit futher east in the middle of no where, he could leave the package on my doorstep for a month and i doubt anyone would find it plus I'm about an 18 hour drive to toronto but with free shipping and those prices i can afford to wait, sorry to hear about your boot story, I plan on doing a lot of research before I buy anything so I dont get burned like that.

You shouldn't have any problems with Heavy Support Games. As I said, he is legit. I am one of those guys who like to buy in person so that is why I haven't been to his store.
If I still kept working in Mississauga (GTA area) then I would have been shopping there more since it's close by.
Why don't you buy something small from him and see how that goes? If you can afford it, why not call him on the phone as well. This way you can maybe get some "vibes" of him as well.
As I said, he treated me great. I bombarded him with questions, he was patient with me, explained everything with me, and gave me some great deals. As I said, I don't order online since I got burnt abit from Ebay. Boxes were left at the door as well. Since you don't have that problem, go ahead and try it.
Again paying by credit card, you are covered if you do not recieve the goods. Just make sure you ask how he ships and how reliable they are.

I have in fact ordered from them for the last few years on and off.
I have also received orders within the last 3 months, including actually just last week.
Why they do the paypal thing I don't know, and I too am nervous. But I confirmed via email with them about the purchase.
So, it does work, its your risk. *shrugs*
I'm sure you can call and place a phone order, maybe?
