Hey guys this is a brutal report between my buddy Bryan and I. Both really meched up and a ton of kill points to be had on both sides. Hope you guys enjoy!

Bad_Sheep37, no one says, "That sucks" like you do (dead Fire Prism, IIRC).

Good report, as always.

Suggestion? Maybe put a couple Bright Lances on 3 or 4 of your WaveSs? The 3 FD units are only good for 3 or 4 tank kills at most before they get roasted, and 5e requires a lot more anti-T shots/opportunities than that.

I continue to enjoy the short & sweet commentary. Reminds me that I oughta start bringing a camera to my Tuesday night leagues.

Nice BatRep... I really liked it. IG is hard, esp vendettas and Russes. IG is always going to outnumber Eldar. You may wish to consider a farseer instead of Autarch as you have everything in on turn 1 so he is not really helping you out too much there - maybe you could give him a fusion gun to help with vehicles, but I think a farseer would be better. Another consideration is a Farseer with seer council in serpent or bikes as these guys fortuned will wreak havok on vehicles too and will last longer than the fire dragons(I would still take 3 squads of those too). Maybe lose 1 avenger squad to get them or hop them in transport with avengers on turn 1.. Just a thought but will give you more vehicle kill power.. Esp warlocks - seers with singing spear - can shoot at vehicles then assault if needed. In this video bat rep too try to disembark squads prior to vehicle movement, then the squad can still move, shoot and if needed assault and the vehicle can move and not expose its ass... then you don't need star engines.. Just my two cents.. Great BATREP. KEEP playing the eldar. Can't wait for next batrep. Cheers.

Thanks for posting another interesting report. I enjoy getting someone else's view on building/playing an Eldar army.

A few questions/comments:

-I like the use of Star Engines as you block in enemy armor pretty quick. It also gives an incredible first turn threat and I can see how parking lot style armies can really become hindered in the first turn.

-It was a bit unclear in the report regarding Dire Avengers getting out, then utilizing Star Engines from the WS? This may not have been the case, but we can't disembark/embark the same turn Star Engines are utilized.

-How big are your Dire Avenger squads? They appear minimal in size, but have an Exarch with Bladestorm. Why not just forgoe the Exarch and take larger DA squads? This would also aid in being able to fire every turn.

-Jumping your troop choices out to fire vs lots of IG seems very risky. It's aggressive, but they become prematurely exposed (IMO) as they really don't do well against any return fire. I've typically had the mindset that my DA do not come out until late game or until their transport is destroyed.

-How do you run your army if you go second? Reserve everything? I saw that you take an Autarch. I play cheap Autarchs and would think your Autarch would benefit by finding the points for a Fusion Gun. It's another anti armor threat that can go in any of your WS.

-How do your Fire Prisms fare as anti armor platforms? Even twin linked seems a bit iffy for a single shot against a tank. I'm fairly hesitant with using them and any advise would be welcome.

Again, fun report and thanks for sharing.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Nive video mate. I can see why you blitzed the FD at the opponent's leman russes, but it seems pretty silly to do the same with the DA serpents. As long as you stay at range the embarked squads are no threat, and a chimera's multilaser isn't very dangerous to AV12. Perhaps it would have been better to take out the dangerous vehicles from range, then you wouldn't have been all disembarked when his vendettas showed up.

What was up with your opponent's heavy support? He had 3 leman russ, a manticore, and did I see a hydra conversion? If any of the leman russ were squadroned I'm surprised they weren't easier to take out.

Fire Dragons have meltabombs mate. I saw at least one occassion where you could have assaulted after firing, thus getting your guys out of sight as well as possibly wrecking their target.

I am confused with the Leman Russ Squadron. Every damaging hit is allocated throughout the squadron. So if you got three pens, each tank would have one pen'ed hit. So unless you only got two pens with 11 firedragons in ideal melta range, the exterminator should have suffered damage in the first strike.

First time posting after having lurked for quite a while.

First- Great Bat. Reps. Have seen several from Bad_Sheep37 and all have been entertaining. Keep it up.

Second: Couple of questions about the Eldar list/tactics. In the first turn you Flat-Outed a Prism from one side of the board into the open, and it subsequently got destroyed. Granted it was directly across from the LR squad, but there was also a building right next to it, which it easily could have hidden behind and linked to one of the other two prisms till the dragons did there thing.

Also, as I believe has already been mentioned, your autarch isn't doing much but being a points sink it looks like. Not sure how close you are on points, but maybe give him a melta so he can run with dragons, separate and hit another tank to at least contribute. Or, if being taken for the reserve roll bonus, find points for another to all but guarantee turn 2 everything comes on. Even then, still would think long and hard about meltas for them. If not using the autarch for reserve rolls.....Farseer. Like I said, main issue there is that your autarch isn't really doing anything in your list.

Also not sold on Prisms, but I've also not played 5th ed much at all (stupid school) so won't comment on their effectiveness or usage. I'm probably still heavily biased against them from every other edition where they were next to worthless.

Anywho, great bat. reps., and keep em coming!

Hey guys first off, thanks a ton for all the responses as well as watching the report. We had a ton of fun and it was a great game.

I cant remember how the fire dragons did against the squadron. Remembering that you allocate "wounds" to the squadron may have changed a lot during that turn, but then again I really can't remember so its all good.

When it comes to the Autarch, I run him just in case I go second and have to reserve. I really like the flexibility he gives me in knowing that I have the option to reserve and bring things in on a 3+. It would be ideal to run 2, but I cant seem to fit it at this points level.

My whole strategy in playing really aggressive with the Dire Avengers serpents was to get rear and side armor shots with my scatter lasers. That's why I decided to rush forward with everything. I figured he had the range on my anyways, so I might as well get in his face and get those shots.

The choice to jump my DA out was extremely risky. I just really wanted those IG blasted out of the building. It prob wasn't the brightest idea in the world, but it was rewarding as hell to see them get wiped out.

Regarding the question with the star engines and embarking/disembarking. It may have been a misunderstanding in the video, but I never embarked/disembarked after using the star engines. Sorry for the confusion.

Fire Prisms are OK at taking out armor. I really run them for their anti infantry/STR 7 AP 2 Large blast of destruction. those 3 prisms have truly kicked so much ass in many situations that I cant get rid of them. Not to mention once they lose their cannon, you can just go all out and ram the hell out of everything. To answer your questions though, I wouldn't take them for popping armor. They can however work as a backup anti armor unit if you need them.

I am thinking about dropping a couple scatter lasers in favor of a couple bright lances or even a couple Eldar missile launchers. I am finding a need for a couple str8 shots in this list.

Seer councils were never my thing and their just a little to expensive for my taste. For this list, I'm really just trying to overwhelm my opponent with as many tanks as I possibly can. I would lose way to many tanks if I put in a seer council. They are bad ass though...just not my style for what I'm trying to do with the list.

I am DEF going to toss a Fusion Gun on my Autarch. I was actually thinking about why I hadn't taken it before half way through the game when I could have REALLY used it.

I hope I answered all the questions. Thanks for all the comments guys. This is why I do these, I love getting feedback and seeing the community get together and discuss reports. Thanks again!
