Hey Guys, doing a tourney with a few friends soon and not sure how my lists will fair. Going with either a Deathwing Army or a Dark Angels using SM Rules Army.

Added side note, I think I'm one of the only Space Marine, let alone possibly even Imperial Armies in the whole Tourney. Huge Xenos influx (Orks, Eldar, etc.)

I think you should have only two troop choices to make room for better stuff like the suggested sternguard especially if the troops can combat squad.

You have armed your sergs' in not greatest way.
I find 2 TH/SS, 2LC, TH/SS with CML the best setup

3 squads+Belial will be 835. So you have to go for two typhoons to make up for lost firepower rather than the dread. I think you do need the three squads to make it work so I would not save points that way.

Sounds good, my only problem is I only have one Thunder hammer Termie. I have 4 LC Termies though I could take instead and use them as the sarges.

Side Note: My main reason for the scouts was more scoring units and the sniper rifles/hellfire heavy bolter worked well when used against Eldar Wraithguard.

For 1k points go with a cheaper HQ in the SM army save the 20-30 points and go with a librarian or chaplin HQ.

The Chapter Master is too expensive at 1k

Would a Captain work or would a Librarian be better? I'm still debating on which HQ is best for the points cost. From the way it seems Chaplains aren't used much anymore?

For 1k Librarian or Chaplin - Librarian's are used more, but if you are running an assault style army chaplins can work

Captains are a better then Masters points wise at 1k but the upgrades cost where as Librarians and Chaplins come with built in power weapons etc.

Chaplain and chapter master are not the greatest. Maybe chaplain if termie armour is ok otherwise they add too little. I have real fondness for the chapter master but he is not worth the points.

If in doubt go for a librarian. Seriously librarians fit all lists apart from where the preexisting HQ choice has a role to play.

DA librarians shouldn't really be picked by the way though they have reasonable chaplains.

Next question, Libby in PA or Libby in TDA?
