Dark Eldar kick ass. You're not giving us much to work with here though, so that's about it.

DE's just below the major power lists right now, if that's what you're wondering.

Is it your first army? DE is nice and lethal, but VERY fragile until you learn the ropes. It's not a good starter's army, you could say. Unless you are patient and don't mind losing a few games and analyzing your strategy a lot.

In Boxing matches, you actually get paid to take a dive and make the other guy look good.

In Warhammer 40K, you're expected to pay cash out of your pocket for the privilege of having Marines and IG trample all over your Xenos/Chaos.

Dark Eldar are sexy lightning-fast glass cannons. They hit hard, but can't take too much punishment (some tend to enjoy it, though). So, they're a great army, but if you're not too experienced you WILL have some trouble in your first games.

I just started my DE. They certainly seem interesting. It's an army of a few contradictions though.

They are fragile but they can have 5++ saves on vehicles and 4++ saves in combat and feel no pain.

They are very shooty but then very combaty too.

But the best thing is they're fast. You can get them into combat 2nd turn, and you can zip them over to objectives at the end (so always try and put objectives as far apart as possible)

From a hobby view point I’ve found they're rewarding to paint, especially with an airbrush.

We love what we love. Reason does not enter into it. In many ways, unwise love is the truest love. Anyone can love a thing because. That's as easy as putting a penny in your pocket. But to love something despite. To know the flaws and love them too. That is rare and pure and perfect.

I personally quite like the idea of really honing strategy and learning from abysmal losses. It's a good way to learn the game I think, even if it is a little intense. But at first you will lose. Badly. If you want to ease yourself in however, DE are not for you.

You also haven't said what sort of army you like playing. DE can do assault and shooting well, although will probably stay alive longer by spamming poisoned shots. If you want to be competitive, do you like the look of the models and playstyle required?

Perhaps you care less about playing and more about painting? If so, then go ahead!

ok guys thanks for the initial feedback, this however is not my first army however the only one i have yet to dabble in or even play against. So heres what i can gather...
Weak to armour
1) Some nice toys to prevent point 1 becoming too much trouble
2) fighty but shooty and shooty but fighty
3) fast as hell
4) Very much an elite army, few but strong (will need some verification in this one!)
5) nice to paint (I like the look of the incubi!)

any more thoughts?
