Been Around the Block

Hi, my friends and I are casual WH40k gamers. So far, we've only played with each other. Our armies generally are in the 1600-2000 point range overall. I have around 2500 points worth of Tyranids however since I bought 100+ models off ebay for $40 (It was ridiculous!)

We've done some fun 2v2's, but tomorrow I'm thinking of a 2v1 with 2500 pts worth of Tyranids versus two armies of 1000, Guard and Eldar. Half of the board will be the outskirts of a city and the advantage will clearly be given to the Eldar/Guard. For funsies, we were going to choose a few Strategems for the defenders, and give the Tyranids Orbital Bombardment and one troop choice will get Deep Striking regardless of actually having it (as though they had a Spore attached, don't have a spore!)

Anywho, since my nid force is mostly a Horde type if I fielded all of it, it should be a massive affair with swarms and swarms of Tyranids charging into a desperate defense. It should be a ton of fun! I'll try to take as many pictures as I can so people can take a look (I'll probably make my first battle report if so ) but I'm wondering if anyone has any tips to make it more fun/balanced. The goal is for it to be a competitive game, as in either side could win, but the advantage to slightly favor the Guard/Eldar.

Cheers!

To make it more balanced, you could give the Eldar and Guard players an additional 250 points each.

The best way to work it is since you are fighting against two different 1k armies, you make two different 1k Nid armies to attack with, so everything is even points wise.

You could also use the Fortress rules from the Apoc Ruleset to add that extra 500 points to the non Nid side of the table.
