What do you think?

Any advice to make him look a little better? I considered painting the little bangle type thing just above his left knee but I am not sure if I want to or not, he's got a lot of metallic on him already and I'm not sure how else to paint it and it looks decent as is.

Take off the mold lines.

The armour looks okay but a wash and highlight will do it some good.

Paint and highlight the details.

Drill your gun barrel.

Finish the base.

Good start though. FYI this forum is for completed models only. Really good start though. Be sure to post any updates/questions!

You must have some painting experience, no? Nice job, very good! As Barksdale said, cut the mold lines and some highlighting will do some real justice.

I guarantee you that I'm not really as smart as the test says:

Hi,

first of all its a very good job for your first mini.
When you wash the modell it becomes more depth and after the wash dont dry brush the modell.paint the higher parts.
When you paint gold paint a thin undercoat of brown!
Then you have a much better gold its more sealed and clear.

Best regards from Germany!

I must say impressive for your first painted one!

it looks great and your on the right track only gripe i have is about the base coat/primer you used is on the thick side. i would suggest spraying closer to the mini with faster movement so you dont clog up the details.

most importantly, just have fun with it!
