If a Farseer casts Fortune on himself and then joins a unit, does the unit then get Fortune as well?

I think that the bonus only occurs to the Farseer since thats the unit you casted the spell firstly. I do know that fortune stacks on farseer if he leaves the unit in which he was joined and casted fortune before departing.

This is a hotly debated topic.

I stand firm on the "Unit gets fortune" side of things. But, there are plenty of others that say no one gets fortune.

It's an issue you and your opponent (or the TO) need to sort out.

The unit that Fortune was cast on, the IC, no longer exists as a separate unit. Stated repeatedly in the rules for ICs, and explicated nicely in p49s rules which state that the ic is a "normal MEMBER of the unit"

So, being nice - the Farseer retains fortune, the unit doesnt suddeny gain it.

This is generally how I play it. If Eldrad needs to jump out to another unit, he retains fortune, but the new unit won't benefit - why should they? He didnt't cast it on them.
