Is it me or is it mostly full of garbage these days. There are very few shows on that make for good watching, and many of the good shows seem to be repeats. There are only a few shows/programmes that I even bother watching these days; Dr Who, Casualty, Merlin and Spooks being the main ones, and all of these are BBC shows. What do you guys think of tv these days, any shows that you watch these days in particular?

We have almost 200 channels to watch w/DVR. And I can be honest, we record about 6 shows regularly, and those can be counted on 1 hand the channels they come from I agree, most of what is on the TV is just filler until the gak I actually like comes on

TV shows are mostly gak.
But, they've always been mostly gak.
If you think TV used to be better, I think you need to take off those rose-colored glasses.

yes indeedy (unless it really means I play a movie with F-14s incessantly - here's to the Goose baby!). Sons of Guns and other "build 'em" shows as well.
Oh and Tosh 2.0. I blame my boy for getting me hooked on that.
I'm waiting for Christmas and the annual series gift - waiting for Tru Blood Season III.

The only thing I try to watch at present is Adventure Time.
I watch less than two hours a week. A big wasteland imho...

Dr. Who, Terra Nova, The Mentalist, Bones, CSI, Warehouse 13, a Town Called Eureka, are really the only shows that I go out of my way to try and watch, that are stories.
I also watch Later... With Jools Holland when it's on, as well as University Challenge.
One programme that I did enjoy, was "Holy Flying Circus" on BBC 4, which was a story about the controversy surrounding Mony Python and the Life of Brian, but with rather bizarre sequences within the programme, that made the entire thing slightly surreal.

Depends on what you like watching to be honest.
There is normally plenty of funny stuff on TV. In UK at least, there is loads of stand up with things like Live at the Apollo then 'quiz shows' like Mock the Week and Never Mind The Buzzcocks. If I thought about it for a bit longer I could probably list loads of comedy stuff that I like to watch. So that generally keeps me happy.
I mainly watch TV for comedy and Football (Proper football, not American Football) and then occasionally other shows like Merlin, Supernatural and Glee. Never really got into some of the more popular stuff like Dr. Who and House, Bones, CSI etc some of which already being mentioned...
Oh and my favourite programme, How its Made. For some reason i love watching that and it is on loads on one of the documentary channels....

Downton Abbey is the only TV show I watch at my mum in laws on Sundays.
Anything else DVD boxed set on laptop. TV + electric + tv licence isn't worth it.
