I Know they make the banshees fast. Really fast. But do they make them I10 or make them always go first- this is an important distinction because i am a chaos daemons player, and was wondering if the KoS (I10) would go Simultaneously with them or after them.

I could have sworn that in 4th all cover did was what it does still, I didn't play much of 4th though, I did play third and even then cover dropped attackers init down to striking last. Frags would counter act that and I though 4th was the same. Besides with they way it is worded I would still take it to mean with 5th ed rules that the Banshee being dropped to I1 as a 'bonus' to the enemy.

Youre wrong on 4th. Defending units got bumped up to I10

Being dropped to I1 is not a bonus to the defender. Otherwise I'll give you a bonus of -5000 (local currency units) - its a bonus, right?

For you that would be, for me it wouldn't be, why because that 5000 (local currency units) extra that you would have and I wouldn't. Not entirely surprised I was wrong on 4th ed because like I said I didn't play much of 4th.

Banshee masks ignore bonus' from cover and grenades so only other I10 models will strike at the same time

False. In 5th, the attackers swing at I1 (when charging into cover). The Banshee Masks don't override that.

I have been thinking about this greatly since my last post, here was have 2 rules that are contradicting each other.

Banshee Mask: Strikes at I10 first round of combat
Cover: Strikes at I1 first round of combat

Personally I think that the Mask should supersede the Cover but if someone really wants to argue that there is only 1 logical option and that is presented on page 2 of the BGB because I am not seeing this as solvable without an official FAQ ruling.

Not really Sai, you left out the part about cover where if you dont have frags you go at I1 first round of combat, vs Masks Go at I10 first round of combat.

The cover rules are most definitely more specific.

Page 36 under 'Assaulting Through Cover':

"...To represent this, if an assaulting unit had to take a difficult or dangerous terrain test during their assault move, all of its models have their initiative value lowered to 1 regardless of other initiative modifiers..."
