Hi all I am new to 40k only played a few games and am still hitting the rule book pretty regularly for conformation of different rules etc.
I have ended up playing Orks as my I bought 2 x AoBR and my friend wanted space marines So I thought I would run my 750 list by you guys and also see if you had any suggestions for a 1000pt list as well.

Ork boyz x 15
Nob up-grade
power claw
boss pole 130 pts

Ork boyz x 15
Nob up-grade
power claw
boss pole 130 pts

Ork boyz x 15
Nob up-grade
power claw
boss pole 130 pts

warboss
power claw
evy armor
nobs x 5
evy armor
bosspole 220pts

Deffkoptas x 2
twin linked rocket x2 90 pts

Deffkoptas
big bomz 50 pts

total 750

the only thing I am worried about is the boyz squads being @ 15 maybe as a 750 point army I would be better off braking the 3 into to fuller units but this would mean I would loose extra hitting power of 1 x power claw.. thoughts anyone ??

as for bring it up to 1000 points I currently have another 20boyz and 3 deffcopters on sprue and have ordered some green stuff and loota conversion bits online as well the deffkoptaz could be converted to buggy's too if people think that's better also can spend about $100 bucks if need be to to bring it up by the extra 250 points

Cheers

I think that the 3x PKs are a good idea.

Trukkin boys is always good tho scouting deff coptas do wonders spesh if you get first turn scout 24 > move 12 first turn perferbally over some troops and drop some dinner plates then TL RL at some tanks ive knocked out 500pts before my opperant has got to take a shot before then next turn trukking some boys in cleans up the rest ...

personally i run a squard of nob bikers but at 200$ to set up the unit its not cheap haha

Your scout move must end 12'' away from troops, to fly over them means you can not rockit tanks.

TL rockets and buzzsaws on three separate units of koptas works very well.
Your nob squad is actually ok, however if you bought a nob box you could make them FNP, 5++, wound allocation nightmares.
In general large boy squads foot slogging is good. At 750 pts you do not need the extra power klaws.

thanks for the advice guys and yep koptas need to be 12 inches away but can turbo boost over units to drop bombs and get a pretty nice cover save when doing so. I think I will go with 2 bigger units over 3 smaller one as was pointed out its a 750 point game and 3 PK should be enough as long as there is enough boyz to soak up the wounds
I'm not really sure how the buzz saw / kopta thing works will have to look into it

hey good list you have there! my advice would be to get some nobs and use the spare parts (big choppas, power klaws) on the aobr nobs. And maybe make bigger mobs (you have the dex right?)

Another nice thing is kommandoz for the 3rd elites slot; with snikrot they RULE!
The other two are filled with lootas

and buy a battlewagon for the nobs. if you equipp them right you wont need the boss to ride with them, so put him with the kommandoz

looks like a box of nobs might have to go to the top of the shopping list and @ MrMerlin yep got the codex going to have a look at the komandoz latter tonight

Yeah, drop the Eavy Armor on the nobz and the boss and go to Cybork (with a painboy upgrade). The WWAAAAGH Banner is also pretty fun for foot Ork to help them get across the board faster.

With multiple wound models like the Nobz, if each one has different equipment, you can determind who gets the wound alocation (before saves are made). So if you have 5 guys and get hit 3 times, you get to choose which 3 make the saves. People like running a 'plain' Nob (no equipment upgrades) for instant kill shots (weapon strength is double your toughness).

Also, Nobz on bikes are /really/ popular. A unit like that is commonlly called a 'Death star' because it normally destroys /anything/ it hits.

More boys is always a good thing. I see alot of lists where 2-3 30 man mobs are common. Ork lists with big mobs like that are called 'Green Tide'... and yes they are competitive and win.

Good luck and have fun!

Been playing 40k on and off since 89.

@ BlkTom lists where 2-3 30 man mobs are common. Ork lists with big mobs like that are called 'Green Tide'... and yes they are competitive and win. I like this idea as I seem to find a lot of AoBR orks pretty cheap and can add some bitz to them as I need

thanks

Ya, some good advice here so far.
So just my thoughts for getting it up to 1000:

Add lots of stuff to the nobs (PKs, BC, Banner, ect...) so that they are divisified, and don't forget the painboy!
Also, split your deffkoptas up into 3 squads (so they are single), do this in your list now, and even at 1000, as that will allow you to shoot at different targets.

Again, for adding more points, take another 15 boyz, and make two big squads of 30.

45 Lootas.
Nothing is more valuble.
Lootas have never let me down.
Lootas have never failed to kill point for point.
Lootas roll so much they are self averaging
Lootas never utterly fail.
Lootas never monstrously over perform.
Lootas never anger Lady Averages.
Lootas are what i rely on.

The tide is coming
