Wondering Why the Emperor Left






So i'm getting excited about compleating my iron hands army model wise next week when i pick up a box of iron hand marines and some umbro ferrox boltguns from forge world to make some cool looking sternguard but anyways here's the list:

Looks um. I don't really get iron hands from this list.

I really don't like the idea of just a 5 man tac squad and 5 scouts for your troops. I know the sternguard are scoring but it just seems wrong to me.

yep - scouts are fine although they might not be able to get after objectives, and a 5 man tac squad on foot is useless. You might as well assign one of the Razorback to this squad, so they can at least try to seize and objective late in the game, while providing fire support in the early turns (no need to disembark them).

Actually I think I understand the list. 5 scoring units, 5 marines to make the landraider scoring, maybe giving them meltabombs or make them scouts with meltabombs would be interesting.

I would love to see Telion.

The sternguard squads I would make up squads of 6. This seems to be the best number I find. Also try having one squad with two heavy flamers and then a few combimeltas. You will still have 3 rhinos rushing ahead with a melta threat from the hatches but also you'll have an antiinfantry threat for the hordes that do appear in tournaments.

The Warp

I don't think its too competitive to be brutally honest. You have little in the way of combat threat - something even one dreadnought would give you, and add a bit of Iron Hands theme. What about an Ironclad?

The sternguard have to be close to be a threat, and their rhinos are gonna be wailed on.

The devastators are good, but if your using them for anti-mech then I reckon two autolas preds would be better, and free up some points too
