Dangerous Duet






So I decided to give myself a try with the dark angels, and here's why I thought :

Belial, Master of the Deathwing : Thunder Hammer and SS (and see below)

Dreadnought : Venerable, Plasma Cannon, Extra Armour

Dreadnought : Venerable, Plasma Cannon, Extra Armour

DW Termie Squad : Standard (DW Banner), Apothecary, 5x TH+SS, Cyclone ML

DW Termie Squad : 4x Chainfist, Cyclone ML

DW Termie Squad : 4x Chainfist, Cyclone ML

DW Termie Squad : 3x Chainfist, Cyclone ML

So since I don't have any experience with the Dark Angels, all commentaries and suggestion are welcome. Thx for your answers

Seems like a nice list for a DW army. I was going to run an army similair but i decided to go with chaos. If you ever expand to 2k i would suggest some vindicators.

What is up with all those chainfists? Make them TH/SS

160 point dreads is too much. Go with 130 point Vindicator with dozer, instead.

Consider Land Speeder Typhoons for Multimeltas at 75 points each

I would suggest using bikes w/ Homing Beacons. I played a DA army that got Hammernators in my... front lines on turn 1 and assault on turn 2.... It was not cool.

The dreads' Venerable status may be ok but Extra Armour will not really help you. I would usually go twin lascannon on them instead as I think it complements the cml well. If nothing else it means you can at least attempt to shoot down av14 and a reasonable chance against av13.

Shooty termies will not cut it. You'll assault termies with CMLs. I would mix TH/SS and LC so you have a good save and yet still kill dice enemies in combat.

I think 4 squads is slightly too much. You'll be better with the points else where. At the moment you have a lack of options and are really immobile, your army will be like this but you should at least even it up.

So support. Dreads do not do a different enough job compared to termies for me. I much prefer preds as they have mobility and more shooting options. Also typhoons are too cheap to miss. A bike squad sounds good as they have homer and scout. But their scout move is only 12'' and most of the time it will not be in your favour to DWA. Vindis have such short ranged so they rush away from the termies so personally I dislike them.

I would drop a squad and dreads and add 2 preds and 3 typhoons.

So is there any flaw you see in it? I know many of you told me that dreadnoughts are not so good, but I kinda like the feel they give to my list. And to be honest, I kinda hate vehicules that aren't walkers. But if you say they must abolutely go out to replce them for landspeeder, I might consider it if you give me good reasons.
