well everybody who does a P&M blog has a reason a motivator mine is pressure. I cant produce with out pressure so i hope this tread will keep me building/painting. well more painting then building i only need 9 kommando's and 10 loota's to finish the list i am building but almost everything needs to be painted. and that only my orks i am painting a friend of mine his tau. don't expect supper skills or anything out of the ordanairy.

well back to the pressure i have 2 deadlines. one is for a 600 point per player team tournament and for that i need to paint
ORK ARMY:
- 10 loota's (WIP)
- 1 deffplane (basecoated)
- 1 deffplane (i just converted it)
- 20 boys (basecoated it)
- 1 trukk (base coated it)
- 1 big mek with shock attack gun (WIP)

TAU ARMY:
- 12 fire warriors (base coated it)
- 6 stingwing (WIP)
- commander (WIP)
- broadside (WIP)

and the deadline is on the 3rd of december (i know tight but the tau army has priority)

my other deadline is a little easier as it is somewhere in May. probably the first weekend in May. its a 1750 point per player setting you play alone but your score effects your team. its complicated its called Battle Of The Clubs or BOTC. Its basicly a GT for clubs and i am the captain of team Rising Empire 40K. we have a second team Rising Empire Fantasy who obviously play fantasy. our objective at BOTC is the Great Gamers award for most sportive club. this year we almost won with our FANTASY team (finished 3rd) and next year will be our first ever 40K team.

I will be working with my army list in mind so no drifting away painting up useless models although i like useless models. the List i am building is play tested against Tau (the army i am painting) and chaos space marines (also a BOTCH team member) and it preformed rather well. I like the way it plays and it is pretty effective against the two armies i used it againts a shooty army (tau) and a MEQ/close combat army (khorne zerkers, rhino's , deffy, abbadon , termies, predy's).

first the tau there is a test vespid and a commander in my usual color scheme.
i really like some feedback on the vespid. the idea was to make them lighter then the rest of the army which is dark. but to unite them into the army by painting the guns white like the rest of the army.

on the dreadnoughts i used the fantasy giant weapons and extra's. with random ork bits in place's and a drop pod missle launcher. but yeah i teand to do things randomly

glad you like it. yeah the drill is a buzz saw as i use these guy's for turn 1 transport/tank kills

Well just a written update.
i did :
the brass on the two deff planes
began the metal on the deff planes
finished the squad of vespid
and the left leg of the commander

if anybody wants pics just post it and i will take them.

up next are two loota's one in blue the other in orange and white. just a compartment on color scheme

@enz yeah the second plane tends to look long but that's because of the drill. I like the fact that one looks small and the other big.

@TGG funny you say that because the first planes has the most problems firing missiles because the propeller is in the way. I will make a photo of the front so you can see

okay so i want to test my tournament list and where better then on a tournament. On 19 November there is a tournament which i will anent unfortunately with an unpainted army. so my next post will have some "conversions" or how i put it orky bits on a base and tell them they are commando's swimming in water. (which is why i have a hydroplane) which in turn is exactly what i want in the first place

thanks Vik. the secret behind the brass is 3 washes. blue, purple and sephia in that order within 15 minutes of each other. so the washes flow into each other. that gives the strange effect

yeah your right on the washes
1) its been basecoated with Tin Bitz
2) a heavy drybrush of brazen brass (out off production i believe)
3) a drybrush of dwarf bronze
4) a really light drybrush of chainmail

then the washes. I think the idea behind the washes is that there is blue in the purple so those colors blend into each others. and the sephia is there to bring back the brass.

but try it out and tell me how that turned out

alright uopdate time. by my own stupidity i ignored the rules of photo posting and got banned from using the gallery. but luckly legoburner is willing to reverse his decisioun if i promise never to do it again. and i won't trust me.

I have a lot of progress done this day. all of my normal boys (45) have the first 4 layers for the bronze done. after this post i will begin washing them and then there almost done. only the clothes, skin and details. becuase they are mainstream models i don't want to give them to much detail or time.

i have made a loota with orange pants and white shirt. to be honest i do really like it. atleast better then the blue boy's but the blue boys are easier to paint and i have more models already painted this way.....

edit: washes done and i had a long long time to think and the orange white looked to clean for an ork so it's only blue.
the units need unit markers... i find it odd to have different colors or tattoo's with markers so i decided to paint half the base with a different color and the other half brown.

the horror that i uploaded was the car of a friend of mine (for a handy shotgun postition) and a my little pony..... but i (now) understand that it was a waste of dakka resources.

btw for those who don't know shotgun (highly likely) its the right to sit in the front set basicly if everybody can see the car (hence the pic) and you are not inside a building (i posted the photo outside handy laptop) you get the right to sit in the front seat. i like to be flexible

i am not all about the trukks and battlewagons. yeah the heads i need to find in my bit box. one has a grenade in its hand the other two will get an axe and a sword. there just temporary conversions till i can buy some new loota's but yeah next week i have tournament so i need some loota's

yes he has a sight on his sword i know what you mean but i just took a snap shot of him.

one thing the model does shows great on the model is my oil brass effect. Btw i just found out that the Gryphon Sepia wash is not necessary just the blue and purple wash

his story is that i havent had time to paint his skin and so like his 75 (give or take) other friends he is still all metal.

he had an unfortunate meeting with a bad doc that gave him his metal skull. it turned out to be very handy in al sorts of situations

due to the washes on my metal i can't do skin first or ells i would ruin my skin work. which is also a wash so that's why i choose to do the armor first, then clothes, skin, detail.

it's pretty stress full painting if i nick my brass i might have to start over or ells the metal will look weird

funny thing actually i did play an inquisitor army and one of his assassins shot my big mek with a 2 wound round of ammo. i went to the ground and 6 saved him from harm so i don't fear the =I=

well 2 day's until the tournament and i will take pictures of the day. the pictures will be of a bad quality as my phone camera isn't great and my phone has a will of it's own so it sometimes refuses to work.
