I also nominate any one of the animal abuse ads that come on at the worst times when you're watching TV.

saw a cat the other day, very obviously run over, but not yet dead, crawling around the middle lane of the road I was on.

Very sad :(

Im trying to think of any possible reason why they didnt just knock them out / finish them off prior to doing that.... why do it while they are feeling all the pain?

I cant come up with any ideas why, and that makes me sad.... very very sad to be part of what they call humans.

see, it makes me angry, more than sad. Angry that nobody is skinning them, and angry at the fact that furs from China are probably cheaper than foreign competition, so there's no reason for them to change.

I suppose I only have 2 emotions, really... angry, and happy.

Saddest thing I have ever seen, my dog's eye's when I am about to leave for work and no one else is home. It's almost as if I can see her heart breaking.

There are much worse reasons.

One of the saddest images I've seen was the picture of a combat medic lying dead in the snow, now normally it wouldn't be too incredibly sad, but this particular one was executed. We have a man who dedicated himself to saving the lives of others when everyone else around him was concerned with taking lives or saving their own. The individual may have been posted in a different area before hand where he most likely helped civilians, allies, and enemies and did so despite the grave danger he would face. This guy was a sign of good human nature, ones willingness to sacrifice their own self for the good of others, and then he was destroyed and all good along with him. That's why its particularly sad to me.

They actually have a reason to skin an animal live?

No, worse reasons to be a part of humanity. There are still good redeeming qualities though, usually found in times of hardship or crises while the bad reasons seem to be perpetually around and exposed.

Seeing a crippled coyote being comforted by its mate.

Saddest thing I've ever seen, hardest decision I've ever made, and one of the longest days I think I've ever had.

Animal cruelty is unbelievably twisted.

There are some who walk until their legs fail them and they fall to the ground. I find that respectable.
Then there are those who drag themselves further. I find that admirable.

No, I'm not. I'm one of those people who value human lives over animal lives, now torturing animals is bad but piles of bodies in a mass grave next to a concentration camp is a much, much worse and makes me feel bad to share the same species as the individuals who did it, however there are far greater acts of good I see ranging from a parent taking proper care of their child to a person giving up their life for another that make me feel proud to be a human because it makes me think that I can be a better person. Now, Luna was the first one to mention being sad to be part of humanity, so if you have any qualms with someone claiming to be superior then take it up with her.

Not sure if you're trying to put me in a bad light, but I can't comment on something I don't have a present, visceral memory of, mate.

Makes me feel ethical. any furred beasties I skin are hunted and killed first. and then disassembled and have their parts arranged and pickled/tanned/sun-dried but thats a moot point.

and in reply to 'sad' things.

gimme some tome to think of them...

I agree with those statements, I just have problems with people who paint others with broad strokes either way I'm glad we cleared that up sorry if I offended you in any way. I know my earlier post was

rather antagonistic, but you seem to be someone of good character which I appreciate.

To admit the mistakes of human beings doesnt mean im above others. It just means i see the things we do, and im ashamed to be a part of it.

e.g Im not a vegetarian despite preaching to not harm animals.

Its no problem cheesecat, its just that there are bad individuals and good individuals and the bad ones are the ones that are remembered. I think its like evilness is a big flat brush loaded with acrylic and goodness is like a needle point used to paint the tiny fething pupils in a guardsman's eyes. You could eventually paint over all of what evil painted, but it would take forever.

Oh, I have no problem with you being sympathetic and/or empathetic towards animals in fact I find it reassuring that you have a hatred towards animal cruelty.
