Subject: Eldar vs Eldar psyker question

Sneaky Striking Scorpion

May be playing another Eldar person this afternoon. I know that if I use my Avatar & he's in range, his men are also fearless; however, what about psykers? If I have an attached Warlock with Embolden with my Storm Guardians, does the opposing squad I get in CC with also benefitting from my Warlock - or is it ONLY the unit to which he's attached? And do I need to take Runes of Warding on my Farseer if I'm playing another Eldar? Thanks!

One of the FAQ's from the last few months states that you don't get benefit from otherplayers effects unless it says you do.

If you take warding then you make their psychic tests harder, which is always a good thing - eldar can be heavily reliant on psychic powers, so stopping them being so reliable will be a big help

The wording for the avatars Inspiring special rule can be construed as to be worded to effect enemy units as well, (it says 'any Eldar unit' not 'your Eldar units') but Embolden as well as the other Warlock unit enhancing powers are worded such that they affect only the unit the Warlock is a part of.

Cool. Thanks, guys. Automatically Appended Next Post: What if he has Runes of Warding and I have Runes of Witnessing on MY Farseer? Does that mean I still have to use all 3 dice & suffer perils if I get > or = 12, or can I throw away the highest one?

An Igloo Deep North in Canada, eh?

Powers cancel eachother, roll 2 regular dice, as per normal.

Both players should be using the least durable units possible, with the house rule that all players remove an article of clothing every time you lose a unit, and take a drink every time you kill one of your opponent's units.
I have no idea which army will be triumphant, but I can assure you that everyone wins.

Runes of Warding has an interesting interaction with Runes of Witnessing as detailed in the Eldar FAQ. So you roll 3d6, since both will require your Farseer to roll 3d6 dice. After rolling 3d6 do the perils check required by Runes of Warding. If you rolled above a 12, you'll take perils. Then drop the highest dice as required by Witnessing to see if the power is successful. This is pretty cool for Farseers as it Witnessing negates all but the perils aspect of Runes of Warding, and the Perils attack more often then not will not get past the ghost helm... OFC, if you catch your opponent without Runes of Witnessing... he'll pay dearly
