I have decided I would like to have a Bi-monthly contest, both as a shameless plug of our company ( Regimentgames.com ) and as a chance for hobbyists of varying skill levels to have a chance to to compete.

Purpose: To encourage hobbyists of all skill levels to try new and different techniques in a supportive and rewarding environment.

Rules:

Approximately every two months I will introduce a new contest. I will give a set of inspirational words/terms/subjects but very little additional directions. Entries should be creative expressions of the given theme.

For instance, I might set the contest as Discovery. Entries might be a figure finding something in a jungle, a wizard learning something new, a vehichle named 'Discovery', anything from a single figure to a diorama to a giant vehichle. They choice is yours!

Contestants are encouraged to use new techniques they have never tried before; perhaps a first go at OSL or NMM or use of GS.

Judging will be heavily based on creativity and effort. Skill will aslo come into consideration but will be significantly less of a factor. As I am giving the prizes I get to be the judge but, during the judgin phase anyone is welcome to give input. Still, the final decision will be mine... Bwahahahaha! the POWER!!!! Eet ees all miiine!!!

There will be two levels

Amateur/Novice wich will have the basic theme. Winners in this category must enter the Professional/Expert category for future contests.
and

Professional/Expert For hobbyists with more experience. This will have the basic theme + color + something else such as a advanced technique or whatever I happen to feel like throwing in. The color does not mean the entire model must be painted that color, but should be incorperated somehow, somewhere. It could be in a centerpiece jewel, a tattoo, used for highlighting, even a monochromatice paint scheme. You can use creatively as you wish. It may only be used as the background in such a way to nicely compliment the entry!

All entries should be should be made with a photo of the start of the project when contestants begin. WIPs are not required but are encouraged as everyone can comment and help each other out. When an entry is completed it should be posted here and PM'd to myself. It should include The starting photo and a finished photo from a minimum of (but not limited to) two angles showing front and back. They can be on any background or in any setting. They can include fluff entries or explinations as desired.

All photos posted here should be from uploads to your Dakka gallery!

The main goal here is to go crazy, be creative and try something new. Any suggestions for the contest would be appreciated.
