Hey everybody! Like a lot of us, I'm excited about the new Necron release, and I've been thinking about some cool conversions for my necron bandwagon army, if I decide to hop on.

One weapon I think sounds cool is the Tachyon Arrow, a one-shot HK missile. I was thinking a cool way to model this might be an Ushtabi Greatbow. However, I've never seen one of these in real life.

So the question becomes, would a bow of that size look ridiculous on an infantry model on a 25mm base? How about something terminator sized, on a 40mm base? And what about as the arm of a destroyer, like the current Destroyer Lord?

Also, as an aside, would Ushtabi heads fit terminator armor, to mix up the helmets a little? Waste not, want not, after all

The Ushabti greatbow is about as tall as a Terminator. It would look silly on a 25mm-base infantryman.

I was afraid someone would say that. It would probably look ridiculous on a Destroyer as well, then...

Well, it would look much less silly on a destroyer-sized model

Something like this could be good as part of a "Tomb Kings in Space' themed Necron army - fluffwise, one necron lord is busily manufacturing new weapons and for whatever reason has chosen designs which to human eyes resembles ancient Egyptian weapons. Modelwise, mixing and matching TK and Necron models is an attractive idea - done right, it could look very characterful. (Done badly, it would just look like a pile of bits randomly stuck together, but then that's true of most conversions...)
