Getting back into my IG and wanting to go back to my roots in how I started with IG, I have decided to make an "Elite" force of Plasma toting Guardsmen. With that if mind, here's what I have so far:

HQ:

CCS: CC w/ Plasma Pistol, PF, 4 x Plasma Guns, Krak Grenades, Carapace, Chimera 215

STS: Sgt w/ Plasma Pistol, PW, 2 x Plasma Guns, 7 x Hot-Shot Lasguns, Chimera 270

As is, I currently have 150 points left to play around with. Also, this is cetainly by no means a final version, more like a rough draft. I am also considering dropping the STS for 3 more Vet Squads and another similarly armed CCS. I do want it to be a Mech Inf force and Plasma based, but other than that I'm open.

It would be awesome for you to add in a LR executioner with plasma sponsons. Would complement this army pretty well theme wise. Maybe drop a squad of SS or something.

If you want to have a chance you need to drop alot of the junk. The way it is now you are going to get mauled. Drop all the plasma pistols, all the powerfists, all the power weapons, the krak grenades on your ccs, the carapace on your ccs. Also run only minimum 5 man squads of stormies. With those points you need to think about how you are going to take out heavy armour.

You are also going to want a LRBT Executioner (w/ plasma sponsons ofc). For even more and giggles, try armoured sentinels with PC, that way you have MOAR PLASMA!

No that is exactly what you do not want. There is already a ton of plasma. I'd suggest either 3 vendettas or 3 demolishers. I'd switch out at least your CCS to 4 melta, however. There should be enough points to add in another plasma vet squad in a chimera and an astropath.

I'd say keep the list strictly Plasma. Saying that, you wont be needing the PF or Power Weapons on any of your units, because with plasma as rapid fire, and IG being IG, assault is not our friend. dropping all those would give you 75 more points to spend, giving you more than enough for those Plasma cannons on the Executioner

As of right now, you have 0 chance of getting a pen hit on AV13 and 0 chance of even glancing an AV14. I'm all for theme lists, but i'd assume you want something that actually gets the job done as well Add in a few meltas somewhere, or some real AT tanks, ie Executioners etc and you should do fine

Yeah, I have to fully agree with Barksdale and the others on the need for AT and the drop of wasted CC equipment because your really bad at CC.

Two Vendettas with troops you can Outflank with, turbo suicide drop melta vets with or use as a gunship (and sit on a rear objective with since it is scoring). Melta STs to Outflank or Infiltrate up for further AT. CCS can drive up with your plasma vets and be a 3rd layer of your AT force. They have a GL because I had 5pts and a empty Special Weapon slot and flamers on BS 4 is a waste and Sniper Rifles are not assault.

Plenty of plasma, plenty of melta and some long range AT that can multi-task and 6 scoring units.
